We finished the night with record earnings banked. Marcus swore it was because there was a semi-beautiful young girl behind the bar but we all knew that the night had been a success thanks to the band performing that night.
There were three weeks left until Marcus would hand over the bar to me and move on. I heard from one of the waitresses that he had been offered an opportunity to manage a night club somewhere and he didn't think twice before he took it. This was of course hearsay and whatever would happen in the next three weeks, there was nothing that could change his mind and make him stay.
Jennifer wasn't kidding when she mentioned that Jon didn't like people looking at him. But for what reason, a woman wouldn't look him with admire and lust in her eyes. This guy messed with the woman's brain and didn't give in even when you watched him walk in the nightclub the night after the crazy party we had the night before.
The list of drinks and cocktails in the so-called 'menu' weren't that different from the liquid courage I had to mix together in Miami.
Miami.
George.
The bastard son of my former boss and the biggest asshole living on earth somehow managed to find me in one of the biggest cities in the world. I had left, without telling anyone about my destination of heading and kept the details of my departure to myself.
Maybe he tracked me down with a personal detective? With a bounty hunter?
Nonsense.
I showered and got dressed. I decided on a short black pencil skirt and a white top with silver lining at the neckline. Since the apron would cover most of my frontside, I didn't worry about the small silver details ruining my clean and hopefully professional look.
I walked out of my apartment with still tugging the hems of my jacket together. The weather was miserable and already slowly destroying my mood.
Everything after that happened so fast. I took a step and heard somebody yelling "STOP!!!"
I felt the cold metal hit my knees and light flashing brightly before my eyes. Everything went black and pain flooded my senses and the whole body.
I never saw the car coming.
I woke up in the hospital weeks later, not remembering a thing.
