Dull eyes

I've always sat either across from her in class or beside her. Her actions have always seemed absent minded or controlled. Her eyes never seemed to fully focus but sometimes they were less focused than others. She always seemed to be elsewhere but today. Today she was fighting on stage. She and her opponent had agreed to not stage it one way or another but rather to have a true fight on stage, simply to entertain. And she claimed it would ease her mind. But honestly with the daily look of lifelessness I didnt think there was anything to clear. But I noticed as she drew her staff and he drew his, her eyes were further away then theyve ever been and just as quick as they left her eyes came back to full attention. Something id never seen her do. Id never seen her eyes in full sharp mode. Like she was genuinely focused. The teacher slapped the stage signalling to begin the fight and within seconds she had him cornered and disarmed. The fight was over as quick as it had begun. "Again" he was say, claiming to be distracted. Again they would fight, she would slay, and he would yell. After the third or fourth fight her eyes faded again as if this was becoming a habit. She had no need to focus. He was no threat. I'm determined to make her focus. I want to see her golden flaked silver eyes in focus again.
