She was staring at the most beautiful and majestic dragon she had ever seen, and he was staring at the most beautiful but sad fox he had ever seen. She had never seen a real dragon before but never had the chance. Since she was a kit she was stuck on the streets and called a misfit, nobody would want her. Until two years ago, then she was kidnapped and put into a fighting ring. She learned to fight and survive on her own and today she broke out and ran away. She ran as far as she could and eventually ended up in a large valley at the base of one of the few mountains around. It was far enough from the village she could rest for the night but not far enough to stop for good. He lives on the tops of the only mountains around and comes out at night for hunting. He only comes at night so the nearby villagers wont hunt him and kill him. The last time he encountered humans they tried to kill him but only took one horn. Tonight he was hungry and had just left for his meal. It was earlier than usual but he hadnt eaten in a few days due to alot of humans being around his mountains. He flew down to a medium sized tree and sat atop it while looking for food. Little did ge know below him was an injuried fox just wanting to be warm for the night. She masked her scent by rolling in the dirt and brush and hoped it would last long enough for him to leave. Her golden eyes shook with fear as the biggest dragon she could imagine just sat above her head and was hunting. She was an injured animal and would be easy prey. She made the mistake of gasping and he looked down. He jumped off the tree and landed just a few feet from her. He looked down at the pathetic fox and tried to desifer what he was looking at and what he was feeling. What he saw was a beautiful fox who looked like she hadnt eaten in weeks and had been torn almost to death but yet still managed to seem sexy even in her state of appearance and exhaustion. He wanted to protect this fox and destroy all the humans who hurt her. She looked up in fear and awe of the beast in front of her. He was wise to stay away from humans but it seems at one time he wasn't because he was missing one horn. It had the top half missing. He had the darkest and prettiest eyes she had ever saw, green like emerald but hidden in the blacks of coal and stone waiting to be mined. His scales when ombréd green to black, an almost pure emerald streak through his belly that was black by the time it reached his back. His wings were the same, they started with a black base that faded to a green tips. She was scared this magnificent beast would eat her for his next meal but surprised to hear him say hop on. She did as she was told, scared hemay kill her if she didnt. And he flew her to his cave at the top. He dropped her off and demanded she stay put until his return. Again she did as she was told even if it was a little cold up here. Soon he returned with two giant bucks and told her to eat. It surprised her that someone was offering her food but obviously it must come with a cost. Nonetheless she dug in and ate as much as she could. Soon both deer were gone bones and all, thanks to the dragon. He saw her shivering and used his tail to pull her into his side to warm her up. After much discussion the two decided to be friends, after all the world is a lonely place for a small fox and a giant dragon. He saw her lack of body mass was making her cold in the harsh weather so he wrapped his body around her sleepy body and kept a fire in his belly and the pit she dug in front of thhem to keep her warm. Soon enough he heard her light snores and fell asleep with the most adorable fox on his stomach.
