Once again for the second day of school, Li Na woke up to the sound of her alarm going off. And once again the clouds covered the sun. Another day in overcast La Push.
Pulling herself out of the bed with a groan and missing the warmth of her bed. Her bare feet hit the cold wood floors if her room. Feet puttering to the bathroom and closet. When turning the lights on, her eyes squinted at the sudden brightness.
Li Na looked at herself in the mirror, her hair was in every direction and her face bare of makeup. Li Na began her morning routine of getting ready for the day. Tackling the hair and makeup first, before heading into the walk-in closet. Due to the chilling weather, Li Na went for a black turtleneck sweater and black skinny jeans. Pulling another one of the many Burberry trench coats and slipping it on. Searching through the drawer with many miscellaneous scarfs until she found the black Burberry scarf and tucking it into the waist tie of the coat. Searching for her black leather platform Saint Laurent ankle boots. Adding the finishing touches of her outfit with jewelry and a simple black Rolex watch.
Exiting her room, Li Na noticed the house was completely silent. Her brothers must be all asleep still. Making her way through the house to the kitchen to grab her lunch from the chef. Upon entering the kitchen her lunch was already packed with a cup of warm coffee sitting on the island. Li Na smiled as her chef was such a kind woman. Taking the few minutes to drink the warm beverage and munch on a tangerine orange before heading to the door.
Grabbing the keys out of the coat closet, and heading into the garage to her black Tesla. The lights flickered on as she started the car up. Throwing her rucksack in the passenger seat and buckling up. The door to the garage opened with the touch of a remote, slowly rolling the car out of the garage.
The drive to school was short, the trees flew by and Li Na sped down the winding roads. The beach scenery showing up as she drove in the direction of the school. Li Na made it to school, too soon for her liking. The parking lot was filled with run-down cars and trucks, which have seen better days. The sleek black Tesla stood out in the parking lot. Students stared like usual as she pulled into an empty spot close to the school. All eyes were on Li Na as she stepped out of the car, sliding on her Channel sunglasses before making her way to the entrance of the school.
Once entering the inside of the school, Li Na made a beeline to her locker in the next hall. Eyes continued to follow her as she was still the talk of the school. It was like the students couldn't believe she was still at the school. Li Na was placing books away until a shadow appeared around her. Finishing putting her things away before turning to see who was behind her. The person waited patiently as she closed her locker door. Li Na's eyes met with a hard chest covered in a grey shirt. Her eyes looked up, to see the person standing behind her. The warm brown eyes met her dark eyes, the crinkle on the corner of his eyes, showed he was smiling.
"Hello to you, Paul," Li Na said looking up at Paul. "Hey, how was your night?" Paul asked trying to start a conversation with the girl. "It was alright, my family had dinner with some acquaintances," Li Na said as she pressed her back against the metal wall. Paul leaned in closer to her body, placing an arm next to her head. "Humm, I wasn't invited?" Paul joked as a smile spread across his face. Li Na chuckled at his antics, "very clever, I don't know if I could fit you into my schedule?". "really, I bet you could how about Friday night?" Paul asked as he wanted her to say yes. "Nice try there, I'm not that easy to woo. You're going to have to try harder, love" Li Na patted Paul's sculpted chest, the warmth from his body went into her fingers, making her not want to stop touching him.
Li Na began making her way to history class, Paul chased after the girl to talk to her. "So I heard for class, there is going to be a partner project. I was thinking we could be partners, what do you think" Paul asked her as they both walked through the crowded hall. "I'll have to think about it" Li Na teased as she looked up at Paul. The bell rang as they made it to the history classroom, the two taking seats next to each other.
As the teacher showed up to the class, his hair disheveled, and his things a mess. "Alright students, I am assigning a partner project to the class. You can pick any person to work with and your topic must deal with the economic and government of La Push" He said as papers were being passed through the rows of desks. Paul looked at her the instant the teacher said "a person to work with", Li Na rose her eyebrow at him. "You must have a PowerPoint presentation with this project" the teacher included as he made his way back to the front of the room. Papers landed on Li Na's desk before she took one and passed them on. "If we work together, you have to help. I will not do all the work, are we crystal clear" Li Na whispered to Paul, his head nodded as he understood her rules.
"Students, you can begin working now," the old teacher said before sitting at his desk and going on the computer. Paul spun in his seat and he pulled his desk next to Li Na's. "well aren't you excited to do this project" Li Na laughed as she looked at Paul from next to her. The desk he sat at looked way too small for him, his large figure barely in the seat. Li Na laughed as she observed the large boy, sitting there. "What is so funny to you, baby girl" Paul chuckled at the British girl. "You. What do you take, steroids? You are so muscular and big" Li Na grabbed onto his bicep to exaggerate her joke. His bicep was full of muscle as Li Na felt his arm, the muscle was tensed as she pulled her fingers away. " Really me, have you looked at your self, I bet you eat and shit gold bricks" Paul joked as his fingers brushed on the Burberry scarf around her neck. " I do" Li Na laughed as she swatted his fingers away.
"do you want to meet up today to work on the project?" Li Na asked as the two exited the class. The entire hour and half of class they didn't get any work done, they joked and talked. "I can't today, but we can tomorrow," Paul said as he cursed Sam for putting him on patrol. "Okay, we can meet up at my place if you would like?" Li Na asked as she thought they could use one of the studies. "yeah, of course" Paul smiled as he thought of being with her. "It's a date" Li Na sang as she strutted away in her black boots. Paul smiled as he watched the girl's figure walk away, "it's a date".

That night Li Na sat on her bed, at first she was looking for information up on her history project but then it ended up here searching about the Nine sons of the dragon. All she kept reading was that dragons in the east were water dragons, they symbolized the water and weather. Li Na groaned as she shut her laptop in frustration. All this "magic in our veins" shit has been bugging her for a while, she knew something was off about herself when she began to get mind splitting migraines when she was sixteen years old. Because of those migraines, Li Na took severe actions in her own hands because she was young and reckless. But ever since then, she's felt like something was bubbling within her, trying to break free. Li Na remembered when she was younger and her brothers had the same problems, each of them taking the worst possible ways to solve it. All five of them went to opioids and a long route to addiction.
Feeling exhausted, Li Na drew herself up to a hot bath. The bubbles filled the tub in a pink cloud from the bath bomb, the bathroom smelled like roses. Li Na's fingers ran on top of the water's surface the swirl of pink beneath her fingertips. Taking a deep yoga breath, closing her eyes and picturing the water levitating about the bath. Feeling deep down into the feeling of power rushing out of her until the water moved in the bath. Opening her eyes, in front of her face was a spherical ball of pink water floating in the air. A gasp came out of her mouth, making the ball drop and splash in her face.
