"Knight," Ronnie spoke as I turned into his office. My work day is complete to my knowledge. "I know its not part of your job but, would you be willing to check on the vampires again?" He asked. I nodded at my new task. "Then be free to go home,"
Stepping back I nodded again. Opening the heavy door. It felt like he was watching me as I left. I took my place in my new requirement to leave. How will they react?
I came up to the door. Slowly unlocking it and pressing it open. Patrick whined. I entered looking at him. "Are you okay?" I asked. Then a growl from Pete. I took small steps over to Patrick.
"Don't touch him!" Pete hissed. Patrick had a muzzle on. Just like how Gerard did. He seemed terrified of me. I turned to Gerard.
"Branded after you left this morning." Gerard told.
"Why?" I asked. This isn't right.
"Having emotions." He explained. I turned back to Patrick. Pete still growling. All three where in different cells. I held my breath before doing something. Taking my tase gun out. I know its empty but the people on the camera don't. The vampires don't.
Pete hit his fist on the gate. "Don't touch him!" He growled. I pointing it to Patrick. He closed his eyes. I pulled the trigger but nothing happened. I waited a second as Patrick struggled to understand.
Pulling the gate door open. Against protocol. "Don't move," I mumbled too quiet for the camera but vampires could hear. Patrick sat frozen.
Stepping over I could almost feel his anxiety. I reached out to him, in doing this Pete hissed. "Easy," I told to him. "I'm not that bad," I placed my hand on the side of Patrick's face. Where the clip was. I unclipped the muzzle from Patrick's face and grabbed it without touching him anymore.
He watched as I stepped back and away. I closed the gate once I was out only then did he speak, "why'd you do that?"
"I don't know," I confessed. Putting the muzzle on the rack where it stays. "I uh," I started. "I'm gonna leave, I'll uh, see you guys tomorrow maybe,"
"What's on your finger?" Gerard questioned. I looked down to my ring.
"Its nothing," I lied. Your not supposed to make connections or give yourself weakness to them."Okay," Gerard sighed as I got to the door. "No need to lie, i can sense its purpose to you,"
"What ?" I asked looking to him.
"What's the ring for?" He asked again. Leaning on the bars.
"I got married last week.." I told.
"Who's the gall?" He asked. I cringed a little.
"Guy..." I trailed. He seemed interested.
"I'm sorry I gotta get home-" I confessed.
"Go home. We can't." He signed. I pushed open the door and left. I don't know how I could respond to that.
I ran up the stairs. Craving to get home. I pushed open the second door. There was rarely anyone here. That's strange. My phone went off.

A asset is out of containment. Stay in a safe placeOh n o.
"Knight. Go back downstairs." Ronnie told. I reached for the door but something hot hit the back of my neck. I cried out and was thrown back. I felt my neck. It felt on f i r e. Like, real bad. Y'know when you touch a burning stove? Like that. But in my neck. C o n t i n u o s.
I turned up to see Kellin. Someone I've been around only once or twice. He wore a worried expression. I jumped to my feet, watching him. He watched me.
"Awsten-" Spencer called. I turned quickly as he tossed a tase gun for me. I reached out for it. But instead, I felt hands burn against my chest. Like any normal human, I screamed. Falling back and may I say, this hurts like hell. It was worse then when I had lava rocks placed to my chest.
Kellin jumped back as someone attempted to tase him. Well. He didn't exactly have to move. The fire on him made the tase ineffective. Kellin looked at us all with horrified eyes. With one swift motion, he turned for the door and ran. He didn't even open the door really. When you can manipulate fire you just burn right threw it.
I laid back on the floor in pain. This is one of the first times I've personally been attacked. Well, I wasn't. And I've been attacked before by other assets. But this is one of the first times I've been left scars. Spencer ran over to my side. Kneeling next to me.
"Shit man.." He mumbled."What?' I asked weakly.
"I don't know whether to call you brave or a dumbass."
"Probably the second one," I whined trying to sit up.
"Oh no you don't." He told gently pushing me back down.
"Spenc, I need to get home." I told.
"Not yet you can't." He shook his head. "You've got serious burns."
"No- no no, I'm fine," I shook me head.
"Awsten. Gimme your phone." I told. I sighed and gave it to him. "Password?" He asked. I held up my thumb for him to use. He did and stated doing something. I couldn't exactly see from here. After a little he put the phone to his ear. "hello." He started. "I'm Spencer, I work with Awsten, there was an accident at work today and hes either not going to be home tonight or home late,"
"No. Spencer! You cant make me do this." I whined. He paused then handed me the phone. The phone lit up to see to my suspicion, it was Geoff.
"Hello..?" I started.
"Awsten! Oh my god what happened??"
"Nothing nothing, I'll tell you she I get home." I told.
"Awsten." He pressured. I know he's just worried. He always is.
"I will be home tonight."
"Awsten you can't." Spencer told.
"I don't- care!" I argued Spencer.
"Awsten-" Geoff tried.
"I can take you home once you'd fixed up," Ronnie told. "Not safe for you to drive."
"Thanks, but you sure you want to take me ?"
"Yeah, we can get your car tomorrow, you should be with your husband after that."
