Summer 1989
It was the year 1989, the new found musical pop era of the eighties were coming to an end, the FA Cup semi-final between Nottingham Forest and Liverpool at Hillsborough Stadium in Sheffield, England, turned to tragedy when 96 people were crushed to death, the infamous sequel to "Back to the Future" was released along with the critically acclaimed unpopular sequel to "Ghostbusters" and more tragically a group of teens were found dead and even dismember from our very own home town of SweetLake Valley.
A group of close teens travelled down to one of the group members family home for a weekend of fun, celebration and most importantly to get absolutely wasted. The weekend was all set up and it seemed like the perfect movie getaway for the group of friends until things so drastically turned sinister. The five of the group of friends were slaughtered, two were never found again and two luckily managed to escape but for privacy stayed never came to the public until years later. Years later a movie was based on the experiences of the pair called "Dark Lake" and was a success and even got two sequels. To this day the murderer has never been found and still roams the streets of our world with the murders of five and disappearance of two teens. The murderer described by the two survivors wore a black jumpsuit and what was described as a half wolf/half devil typed mask along with wearing wolf typed hands and they carried around an axe as their murder weapon.
The area has become an national tourist siting as people still believe the killer still lurks the forests of SweetLake but no murders has happened since that fatal and tragic weekend that will never be forgotten about...
