Chapter Two: Not again

Jake's (P.O.V)

So it was official my last day of school was over and I had walked home one last time from that place I referred to as living hell up until about two years ago. Eli and I were over at my house getting ready for the end of year party happening at Katie's house which starts in like an hour. The end of year party is always a big big thing and the head cheerleader is always in charge of organising it and making sure it's a big send off too us all. Cause I am only seventeen I can't legally buy or drink alcohol but luckily Eli has a fake ID, which is just his older brothers passport. So him and I were having a few drinks in my room so my mom couldn't catch us. We were both taking shots of vodka and very quickly got tipsy. We had the best playlist on and the pair of us were completely jamming our hearts out to the music. We both ended up just falling onto the floor laughing and felt the need to just lay on the floor and not get back up until Eve came to walk to the party with us.

"Awh I'm gonna miss this" Eli laughed. "Miss this? Miss what we are both going to the same college so we can do this all the time...but we will be college guys!!" I replied. "I didn't want to tell you this because I didn't want to upset you but since we are here I should probably tell you...I've been offered a place to the college of my dreams and it's cross country and I think I might accept it, meaning I'm gonna have to move" Eli explained. Within that moment I felt my heart begin to break and an awful feeling occurred in my stomach. "Your leaving ?" I asked. "I really don't want to leave and leave you behind but it's the college of my dreams and I hope you can understand and support me in this decision. Your my best friend and I wouldn't feel right unless you agreed with me" Eli responded. "Eli you know I will always support you and of course I am over the moon for you but...you know we aren't just friends. What we used to have is much more than that" I said knowing slowly that the alcohol was starting to talk for me. "Jake, you know we can't be that anymore it's for the better, you know I love you but for the sake of us and wanting to stay friends for a long time I don't think it could work" Eli replied. He loves me? I've never had anyone other than my family tell me that they love me. And I know he means he loves me in a caring way not "In Love" with me but it just caught me off guard. We both were now lying on the floor face to face staring into one another's eyes and the tension between us was so strong it could cause an earthquake. He looked at my lips and I looked at his then together we locked eyes and he leaned in towards me, I closed my eyes and I felt our lips begin to touch and now, we were kissing...and one thing led to another and we lost track of time

"Jake this is the last time, not again,l it can't happen again after this. The drink took over both of us and one thing led to another and we were just emotional and needed it" Eli explained. "Eli you cant ignore how we feel about one another. Of course I want you to go to the college of your dreams and I would never stop you but I can wait" I replied. Eli walked closer to me whilst buckling his belt back on, he put his hands on my shoulders, "Jake I need time, I'm not even out, just to you and eve and I don't think I'd ever be ready to public with my best friend. I'm lowkey this other person at the moment and I'm getting to know her and I'm even bringing her to SweetLake to Denise's family home. But if things don't work out between her and I. And if you want to wait for me and I'm ready...I will 100% be committed to you and this" he discussed. I was heartbroken but also it's the best thing I am going to get and for him I will forever wait because of how much he means to me. But does he know he's cheated on this girl? Like he's just hooked up...with a guy whilst he's seeing this other girl on the down low but I didn't want to confuse him anymore so I left it at that. He is still my best friend and will always be. "That's okay Eli let's just agree the alcohol has taken over by now and It was just fun to go back to and of course I will give you time and will wait" I replied keeping my true feelings to myself. It was now 10pm and we were late to the party by like two hours and I looked at my phone and I had seven miss calls from Eve and a text saying she's heading to Katie's without us. "Shit the party let's go!!" I panicked to Eli. We both got our things took one more shot and ran to the door and made our way to the party.
