If you had to describe yourself in one word, what words wouldn't you use?
Convoluted
What did you want your nickname at school to be?
Ace
When you were a young 'un, what did you want to be when you grew up?
An astronaut.
What's your favourite quote?
We aren't promised anything but the last breath we take.
Tell us about your reading/writing habits. If you're not a writer, then simply the former will suffice!
I wish it were a habit, it would probably happen more often. Both reading and writing are still hobbies for me, and my dedication to them is more whimsical than I'd like.
As your crew casts your lifeless body into the heart of the nearest star, list three pieces of music likely to be rattling the bulkheads of your beloved vessel!
Correspondences by The Tea Party, All Along the Watchtower by Jimi Hendrix, Red Water Dreams by The Aviators
Who is your all-time favourite author? How much, if at all, has their work influenced your writing style?
Guy Gavriel Kay. No one else I've ever read has managed to convey the significance of a life, of a decision, as completely as he does.
Of everything you've written, which piece is your favourite?
The Everburning City. Not yet published, but it's a piece of work I'm enjoying fussing over.
Pitch the above story to us. Make us really want to read it!
I'm fully intent on writing Wattpad's 'Eye of the World'.
To what extent does the mythical 'real life' influence your writing?
A great deal. The lousy graphics, simplistic plot lines and one-dimensional characters remind me that I can do better.
If you could have any superpower, what would that be and why?
Odd as this might sound, I'd like to have the power to understand the full and complete consequences of my actions, what they affect, who they impact, and how far that influence goes.
What would you do if you woke up to discover you were Superman?
let everyone know that Superman exists, and then do as little as possible. I'd sit at the summit of power, and let people be.
The Technological Singularity presents a rather daunting, some say inevitable, future. Does the prospect of that level of artificial intelligence excite you, or leave you quaking in your space boots?
Both. There is nothing but mystery past the point where we discover if a mind can be improved upon, or if an artificial mind can improve itself. It's potential is terrifying for its lack of limitations.
Who was your first Sci-Fi crush? Who is your current one?
Ooh, first crush? I mean asides from the standard ten year old boy answer of Princess Leia? Motoko Kusanagi (Ghost in The Shell)
If you could experience the world of any Sci-Fi story on Wattpad, which would that be and why?
The Four Baristas of the Apocalypse. Mostly because being absurdly behind in understanding technology isn't as much an impediment.
And finally, any words of wisdom to new and aspiring Sci-Fi writers?
Aspire. Especially writing science fiction, if you don't think what your doing is the coolest idea to have been birthed in a human mind, you're not taking it seriously enough.
