I've always thought of home as a place where you sleep or just a place where you lock the door on the way out. I never really realized that home is more then a house, it's more than a place to rest your eyes, more than a place you lock up at night, home, it's, well it's a place where you feel safe, a place you never want to leave.
My house.
My house was never a home.
My addict of a mom and my alcoholic step dad made it hard to call my house a home.
I will have officially put up with this place for 15 years on Wednesday, and honestly I never expected my birthday to go the way it did.
But then again, you never do see the bad things coming. Until they do.
