"I'm coming home sweetie, don't worry"
___________

Today's the glorious day, the special day. It's
my birthday, Ellie Fawn's birthday. My father usually works the night shift, but decided to leave early to celebrate. All the preparations are ready, the cake, the decorations, everything a 6 year old child can dream of. All we needed was dad.

"I'm coming home sweetie, don't worry". I gave the phone back to Mom. It was a bit late at night, sure, but I'll never celebrate my birthday without my father. So we waited, and waited and waited. Mom got bored and switched on the TV, while I played with my dolls.

"..A car crash in the highway.."

That's all I heard, but for some reason, Mom cried loud. "Mom? Are you okay? What happened?" I was concerned. I mean, we were just minding our own business then she suddenly screamed. I was helping her calm down, until I saw the news.

" A man that goes by William Fawn was involved in a car crash this 9PM."

William Fawn.

I felt a sharp spear hit my heart. I couldn't breathe. Dad couldn't die, he couldn't. I covered my mouth in disbelief. I was so in shock to the point where I was basically crawling to turn the television off. Mom calmed herself down and carried me to the car. The car ride to the hospital was filled with silence and tears. I didn't know what to think, yesterday I was just eating dinner with my dad, now he's in the hospital.

We arrived at the hospital and immediately rushed to the ER.

I felt so useless, I couldn't do anything. The amount of anxiety I was feeling, just sitting there while your father might be gone, it haunts your emotions. I tried to calm down, but I couldn't, all I could think about is Dad.

The door from the room opened.

"I'm sorry, but he couldn't make it."
