Seeing you again

~Cole's p.o.v.~

I'm on the plane to New York and I'm going to surprise Lili at work and I'm so excited! It's been really hard to keep this secret from her, especially this week because it's been really tough for her lately. She's been calling me when it's midnight in LA which means it's like 3 am for her and she's been so stressed that I've been so concerned for her, but there has been nothing I can do except talk to her and try and calm her down, well that will be until a few hours from now, when I have her in my arms.

I am laying back, listening to mine and Lili's playlist- it's full of the songs that we either both love or that have been playing during an amazing part of us knowing each other- and I am looking through all the photos of us together. My love for this girl is so strong you don't even understand how much I love her. I don't even think I understand how much I LOVE Lili, and she is my girlfriend.

~Lili's p.o.v.~

I am trying to call Cole, but his phone is just going straight to voicemail, which is really weird. Cole always picks up when I call him, no matter what. I am starting to get worried that something's happened to him because I can't reach him at all. I need him right now. I can't think straight at all. I just need to go and sit down and breathe. Breathe Lili, just breathe. Everything is okay. I'm sure Cole is just in an important business meeting, or his phone died. I'm sure there is a perfectly reasonable explanation for all of this.  

I walk around my apartment with tears threatening to spill from my emerald eyes. "Breathe Lili. Big deep breaths. It's going to be okay. You're going to get through this. Nothing has happened to Cole. He will call you as soon as he can." I say aloud to myself whilst pacing around my small New York apartment.

I hear my phone ring and I sprint over to it. I pick up my phone but the picture on the screen is my mom. "Hi Mom," I say into the phone as I answer the call. "what's wrong Lili? You don't sound very good." She says straight back without even saying hello, classic mom. "it's nothing really." I say "Lili come on, tell me what's up." "well, it's just that Cole hasn't been answering my calls all day and I'm worried about him." I say then breaking down into sobs, crying hysterically. "ohh Lils. I'm sure Cole's fine. He's a big boy Lili." She says after taking a second to pause, probably getting her words together. "I know mom, it's just, well, he always answers my calls. He hasn't missed one the whole time we've been apart." I say getting angry at her while I cry at the situation. "you know what mom, I have to go." I say and hang up, not giving her a chance to speak.

~Cole's p.o.v.~

I am finally off the plane, so I turn my phone off airplane mode and I get about a thousand miss calls from Lili. Then a message pops up from Amy, Lili's mom. It reads "Hi Cole, I know you're on the way to see Lili, but she is freaking out. She thinks you're dead. I would call her as soon as possible. Thanks, Amy xx" SHIT. I should call Lili. I go into a meeting room in the lounge that I'm currently in. I click on her contact as I'm pacing around the room.

"hello," she says into the phone, probably hoping it's not some paramedic calling from my phone. "Lils." I say and we both exhale. "I'm so sorry I didn't get your calls, my phone died and I couldn't charge it because I was in a meeting and" she cuts me off by saying "it's okay honey, I'm just glad you're okay. You had me really worried" she says, laughing at her own words. I can hear that she's crying but I don't want to mention it right now. "I'm not going anywhere, baby. I love you." I say wanting to cry at how upset she is "I love you too." She responds. "okay baby I've got to go now, but I will call you as soon as I can" "okay bye Cole" "bye Lils" and with that, I hang up, grab my bags, and head to her apartment.

I get into the cab and we drive off, but of course, we hit traffic straight away, and Lili lives right in the middle of the city.

I am sitting in the cab, messaging Lili because I can't really call her because she will know something is up.

Lili: I miss you so much!

Cole: I know, I miss you too.

Lili: What I would give to hug you right now aghhh

Now that makes me laugh, how she will be in my arms soon, and I can't wait.

Cole: soon enough baby, soon enough.

Lili: But that's not soon enough. I miss you so much. I miss your smell. your voice. your hair. I miss everything about you.

Cole: baby, you don't even understand how much I miss you.

Cole: I just want to hold you in my arms baby.

Lili: I wanna come and see you.

Cole: you know I would want nothing more than that baby, but you can't

Lili: but why?!?

Cole: because baby, you have work.

Lili: but I can take a couple of days off to come and see you

Cole: but bay, you can't you don't have time in the schedule.

Lili: but I would rather be behind than not being able to see you any longer

Cole: I know Lils, I know. But sometimes work must come first, especially in jobs like ours.

Lili: I love you so much.

Cole: I love you too baby

Lili: I just want to see your face.

Cole: well how about later we facetime?

Lili: it's not the same though

Cole: I know it isn't, but there isn't much else we can do right now.

Lili: okay fine, we can facetime later.

Cole: okay good.

Cole: I should go now baby, but I'll you as soon as I can.

I finally pull up in front of Lili's apartment building. I only know the address because she insisted I know in case anything were to happen. I go to the lobby and tell them who I'm here to see and they let me up, obviously knowing who I am as it is a young lady who is working. She tells me what floor Lili is on and how to get there, then I head up.

I am walking down the corridor to her apartment and I honestly don't think I've been more nervous and excited at the same time in years. I get to her door and I take a deep breath and set down all my belonging, knowing we are probably just going to hug for ten minutes straight. I knock on the door and put my hand over the spy hole in the door, so she couldn't see that it's me. Then the door opens revealing the girl I've been missing since the moment she left. My love, Lili.

What the heck? Two times in one week!? Is that a new record or something for me lol.
