Petra and Lukas were having breakfast in his little cottage in the oak forest. The sun streamed in at the window, and the cat was sleeping in the other room. It was very calm, very peaceful, until the silence was broken by an almighty crash.
Lukas looked up, a little confused. "Was that the door? Who just came in?"
His question was answered when Olivia bounced into the room, unheeding of the early hour. She grinned, and sat down on the table.
"So what's the deal with you two?"
"Excuse me?" Petra, it seemed, was also confused.
Olivia leaned forward, obviously excited. "You heard. What's going on? You're always going off together without any explanation. Jesse and Axel haven't noticed, obviously, but I have, and so has all of Beacontown."
Making an effort to regain his composure, Lukas began, "Alright, first off, this is a terrible conversation starter, and you didn't even ring the doorbell-" The grinning engineer cut him off.
"Oh c'moooon, you were expecting me to ask how your day has been so far, make you a cup of tea and all that? I'm here for you to spill the tea, guys. Are you" - she gestured aimlessly for a few seconds - "a thing?"
Petra shook her head."I have no idea what you're talking about. Absolutely none. Nope. Nothing."
Olivia laughed, very loudly, for a good ten seconds. Lukas contemplated hiding under the table. This was not his plan.
"Tell that to the Beacontowners, Petra! They all think they know what's going on. A good half of them think Lukas and Jesse are dating, did you know that?"
"What?" Petra put her teacup down with a little more force than necessary.
Lukas seemed affronted, and was. "No, I certainly did not. Why on earth..?"
Olivia shrugged, expressively. "I have no idea. It makes way more sense for you two, honestly. Always off on your own together..." She leaned forward. "What are you even doing?"
"I'm teaching Lukas swordfighting-"
"I'm helping Petra with archery-"
"Ooh, contradictory stories!" She giggled. "A trademark of nervous lovers who want to keep their relationship a secret. Am I right, guys? Are you in loooove?"
Lukas was, very slowly, blushing beet red. Petra seemed to be on a mission to avoid all eye contact, and Olivia was having more fun than she'd had in years. This was definitely worth waking up early for.
"Personally, I am in the Luktra camp, but I could be wrong," she went on slyly. "Perhaps it's Jesse that Lukas is secretly in love with, and not Petra-"
"NO! I mean, no, he's not in love with Jesse, I know that for sure." Petra trailed off.
"She's right, I'm not." Lukas added helpfully. And then, "Wait, what, Luktra? Is that like... our names, combined?"
"Yup. Ship name. I could explain, but clearly now is not the time. Lukas, are you aware you've gone bright red?"
"Yes. Very."
"You're so in love with her."
"Possibly. May I hide under the table?"
"This is your house, nobody's stopping you." Olivia hopped to her feet. "Well, I suppose I should be off. Long day ahead of me, you know. Teaching is hard work."
Petra walked her to the door. "So you came here literally just to gatecrash our breakfast together, and then leave?"
"That is correct."
"When did you get up, the crack of dawn?" A nod from Olivia confirmed that she did, indeed, get up at a ridiculous time in the morning. "Bet it was worth it, though, huh?"
"Again, correct. Ever seen Lukas blush like that before?"
"No."
"He's in love with you."
"That appears to be the case."
Olivia laughed, then bid Petra a fond farewell, closing the door a little more quietly this time. Petra re-entered the dining room to find Lukas hiding under the table. You couldn't blame him, she decided.
They sat down and finished their breakfast.
"That was weird." Petra said, after a while of marginally uncomfortable silence.
"Yes."
"Never seen her so excited before."
"Me neither."
"You're in love with me."
"Possibly."
"Possibly or definitely?"
"Definitely."
They sat in silence for a while longer.
"This wasn't how I expected today would go, honestly."
"I don't think Olivia intended that."
"I may also be in love with you, Lukas."
"Oh. Well."
"Yeah."
"What an interesting breakfast. Shall I clear the plates?"

RomanceI wrote this a little while ago for my good bud @ArrowSunn (who also made the SUPER ADORABLE cover art). It's Luktra, be warned. I know some MCSM fans have a problem with it. Any hate will be laughed at and then deleted, because hating on ships is...
