YOUR POV
I awoke to a gentle sunlight hitting my face. I rubbed my eyes only to be woken up to the old room with Jack sleeping peacefully on his bed. He still had his mask on which saddened me, he couldn't trust me to look at him even though I'd already seen him. I thought back to the night I had taken care of Jack. Everything had seemed so peaceful then. Like I was possibly meant to be here. Jack entrusted me to look at his skin then. Maybe it was only because of how tired he was. Maybe he just needed more help then I could ever have realized.
Jack sat up and I heard a muffled yawn behind his mask. He ran his clawed fingers through his messy brown hair and slipped off the side of the bed. I thought maybe he was going to use the bathroom but I was surprised when he made a U-turn and came my direction. I decided not to question him and let him tell me if there was something needed to be said. I wasn't in a good position to make him upset again. He sat down next to me and sighed , leaning his body against the wall.
His hand rested peacefully in his leg. Perhaps he didn't come over here to see me , but only to enjoy the sacred light of the world outside. I sat there silently still, maybe I was even a little disturbed.
I was about to get up and leave him be when he grabbed my hand. I sat back down and looked at him expectantly. He quickly returned his hand from one almost as if it hurt him to touch me. I was emotionally hurt by this but it didn't last for long as he began speaking.

JACKS POV
I saw y/n push up from the bench about to leave but I grabbed her hand and pulled her back down. And quickly moved my hand away when I saw how surprised she was at me for grabbing her.
"Do you want to go for a walk?" I asked y/n , "umm, with me?" I finished and turned my face away from hers hoping she'd say yes. I turned to her when she didn't respond. I looked into her eyes and saw she was smiling as if she really did want to go. But her face became questioning.
"Why?" I saw her frown at me a little. Perhaps she was expecting me of doing something to harm her.
"I'm not going to hurt you. If I kill you I'll be killed for disobeying orders." Perhaps that wasn't the most perfect thing to say and wasn't quite the comfort she was looking for but she nodded in understanding, I could smell her fear scent dying down.

Y/N walked next to Jack. It was refreshing for her to get out of the old stuffy house , which was much bigger than she expected. They had left it by Jack's window. Jack continued to walk in the lead until he came to an old tree. It had strong sturdy roots and a nice grass area to sit in between them. Jack sat down and patted the spot in front of him and y/n sat warily. Jack nervously picked at the grass not looking up and sat in silence for a few moments.
"Ask me anything." He finally said looking up to glimpse into y/n's eyes briefly. She paused and Jack could tell she was thinking. Maybe she didn't want to upset him or just hadn't thought of anything to ask him yet.
After a few minutes of picking brass she finally asked "Why'd you bring me out here?"
"I thought it would be good for you to have fresh air. I've heard humans need it." Y/N giggled and Jack turned his head to the side. He hadn't heard her laugh since , well ,ever.
Y/N noticed the confused look , "Oh you're very smart. Such a gentlemen of you to figure out such a thing." Jack growled lowly hoping she wouldn't hear him. He'd never taken care of a human before. He was doing his best.
"I'm doing my best." Jack huffed and then turned red , he hadn't meant for that to come out.
" I know you are." Y/N replied. Her happy face hardened a little. "You don't have a choice but to take care of me but yet for something you don't want to do, you do a good job." She gave him a fake smile to fill the awkward silence. Jack thought for a moment. Did he actually want to care for her? Or did he not? He wasn't quite sure at this point. He only had questioned himself because his heart stung when y/n had pointed out that all his care never came from his own free will.
But he wasn't being forced to care for her this well. Only to be kept alive. He could have been feeding her one meal a day and he didn't have to let her shower. In fact what he was doing right now , letting her have this small freedom , was a choice he made to benefit her. But why was he doing that? He wasn't required of it.
"Jack?"
"Yes Y/N?"
"What were you eating?"
Jack froze. That was one question he hoped she wouldn't ask. "Please tell me." She pushed his will , looking up with a sad face giving him puppy dog eyes. "You said I could ask anything."
"I'm not sure it's the best to tell you. I don't want you to be scared of me." Jack expressed his fear out loud no longer hiding it. Y/N placed her hand gently on his shoulder. She rubbed his arm softly and he stiffened before letting himself relax to her touch.
"Please" She continued to press him. Jack took a deep breathe in before answering the question.
"I was eating kidneys," y/n froze her arm "I-I w-was eating h-human kidneys." Jack began shaking once again and drew her arm away from him. He took his hands to his face bring down his mask. He was revealing the true monster he was to her. His only acquaintance. He just took a risk to lose her.

JACKS POV

I told her the truth. I was going to lose her trust now and I knew it. I felt disgusted at myself. How could I let her coax me into telling her what I really am . A monster. I looked into her eyes. She looked into my empty sockets. I closed my lids and felt two hands on the sides of my face. I felt thumbs wipe away my black tears. And I felt soft lips kiss where my eyes would have been. I leaned my body into hers.
The soft grass enveloped around us. I could hear her human heart beating. She was all too normal. The last bit of sanity I had in this hellhole I lived in. I had dug a deep hole and she was the ladder. But the ladder was too short to get us both out.
I felt her arms continue to embrace me and for once I enjoyed her touch. This time it felt right. I continued crying  and she pulled away. She looked at me still holding my face and that's when I did something I never thought I'd ever do.
She put her hands around my neck and I put mine around her waist. Both of us still sitting under the beautiful trees. I saw her close her eyes. Something I wish I could do as well. But instead I closed my empty sockets.
I leaned in slowly and tilted my head to the side. I forced my eyelids to stay closed. I felt her hot breathe right before my lips, I moved my hand up from her waist to the back of her head, slowly pushing our lips together.
The way she kissed me, I could tell she genuinely cared about me. I possibly even cared about her as well.  I broke apart and gasped for air, leaning my forehead against hers.
"Come on Jack lets go back inside."
