I was never one who dabbled with such a thing as emotions. So why are they coming, rushing to me now? For the first time my hard, rock like mind falls away to become tortured. Tortured with sadness, fear, anxiety as I hear the screeching of tires, feel the crash from the impact, and my seatbelt jerk into my limp body which was not prepared. I hear the screams from my parents and the unfamiliar sound of my own scream as glass shatters around us and the shards hang in midair for what seems to be a moment before they collide with the force of gravity and fall to the ground around us. And then everything becomes quiet. The only noise is the wind blowing through the trees, rustling the leaves. I watch leaves slowly start their descent toward the ground and I wonder if I will be the next to fall.

I hear sirens in the distance and I wonder if they are for me. Who knew I would ever need them. I'm laid over on my side in shock, I can't bother to get up. And then I lift my eyes and see my parents. The white airbag has inflated and they are engulfed in the sickening color. They aren't moving. Almost as if they are already in a heaven and never want to leave. The blood is the only thing marring their heaven. The blood. A stark contrast of red against white. Then I feel strong hands grab my seatbelt and yank, freeing me from the strap and after the obstacle is removed I am taken from my car. I lay on the ground facing the car, staring as the EMTs run to save my parents as well. One man moves the airbag and I see the face of my father, covered in blood. One eye opened and one eye glued shut with the red. I do not hear the men's voices as they yell to each other and gesture with their arms. I can't make out what they are saying. I only see their lips form words and their arms wave. It's almost sickening.

Then a man's face slides into view, blocking out every other stimulus. I see his mouth form the words, "You're going to be ok." And that is the last thing I see before my vision becomes fuzzy and everything fades to black.
