winter break's end was slowly approaching and donghyuck didn't know if he would he returning home anytime soon.

the last day of the break rolls around and he finds himselff sitting nt on mark's bed staring endlessly at the ceiling. he felt his anxeity taking over his body as he feels stressed and scared about what his father would do to him if he returned. he has never been away from home for this long and he tried his best to think positivly despite mot being fully aware of what positive truly means. he was on his last days of his period and his abdominal area was acting up more than usual. donghyuck pressed on it trying to make lessen the pain but it didn't seem to work. "if you keep pressing it it'll only get worse, here i made some chicken soup eat up" mark suddenly entered the room walking towards the younger with a bowl of chicken soup. "thank you" donghyuck says with a smile as he looks up at the other.

after eating donghyuck changed into some of mark's clothes being, a navy blue sweater and  a pair of  grey jeans, before waiting for mark to finish getting dressed. "hyuck I'm already done come to the living room when you're done!" mark shouts before standing up. donghyuck quickly finishes up and goes to the living room."okay I'm done" as much as he tried to sound energetic he just couldn't, his whole body felt weak for some reason. mark who has only known him for a a week or two could tell he was suffering inside and in an attempt to sound less scary, he says, "don't be nervous, do you want me to come in with you? if it'll make you feel better I will " a couple of days prior donghyuck told mark that sooner or later he would need to return home because he didn't want his father to grow inpatient and alothough mark really didn't want to let go of the other, he had no choice but to nod.
donghyuck looked at him with a small smile on his face "yeah no you can't come in, my father's going to kill both of us" he said jokingly but could see the shift in mark's mood. "can you not go?" mark said with after sighing deeply. donghyuvk doesn't answer but instead takes a hold of thr older's wrist and drags him out the door.

going home after being away for long was the scariest thing donghyuck had to experience. mark realized way too late that donghyuck didn't own a phone and he had no way of contacting him if he ever needed anything.

walking slowly in his neighborhood has never been scarier. he could hear ever leaf crack and ever breath he took. when donghyuck finally reached to htge place he hates most, he takes out a spare key and shakily opens the door. he quickly notices how clean the house was. like, too clean...then it hit him.

his father brought a woman home. ever since his parents parted ways 13 years ago he never brought anyone home. "I heard door of it must be your son!" he suddenly heard voices talking. donghyuvk panics for a second before hearing footsteps coming towards the door he was standing against. he didn't know what to do and could only look down and fidget with his fingers. "oh my god why didn't you tell me you had such a beautiful son, he's pretty like a girl" the lady pauses and looks at donghyuck up ans down before continuing. "oh dear I'm so happy to be your step mom" hearing that last word sent shivers down donghyuck's spine. mom? mother?  he has never had a motherly figure and neither did he want one anymore. "oh donghyuck don't be rude give your mom a hug!" not liking how the woman looks nor dressed but being afraid of his father donghyuck walked towards the woman and stretched out his hand in front of her as he tried his best to crack a smile. she rejects his hand and instead hugs him as if she hasn't seen him in years. "oh my god he's so cute! I'm choi kyujin, actually lee kyujin now hahaha!" she said as she smiled back towards donghyuck's father. "wait...I leave for a few days and your already fucking married?!" donghyuck's father shot him a quick glare before he pulled a fake smile on "oh c'mon haechanie don't be so rude" donghyuck hated that nickname more than anything, he knew if his father called him haechanie then he's definitely not getting let off easily. donghyuck quickly says excuse me before running to his room upstairs. he put some of his clothes, photos, drawings and other belongings in a duffle bag before running downstairs facing his "parents".

"I hope you both live in misery! and you lady don't you dare call yourself my mother!" for the first time in donghyuck's 19 years of living he actually did something to be proud of. he confidently took his backpack and left for the last time knowing he won't be returning. "don't look for me" he says before leaving out the door leaving both his father and kyujin shocked.

his new problem however is where he can stay. should he try to work and try to rent a cheap apartment or should he try and find mark again?
