Chapter Four

"Go, Jelo!" Stel just wont stop cheering for that familiar guy. Championship na nila kuya Ansel and we're here watching the game.

"Ang gwapo talaga ni Jelo, no?" Siniko ako ni Aya at nag tanong. "H-ha? Umm, Oo." I was slightly startled when she asked me a question because I was too focused on the game.

Nasa varsity players namin ang bola, lamang ng two points ang kalaban. The opponent are on defense at malapit nang matapos ang laro.

Isang minuto nalang at matatalo na kami. Venicé University is the defending champion for this season. We can't deny how skilled they are.

Agad na kumilos si Jelo at ipinasa ang bola nang malayuan, five seconds remaining. I closed my eyes and clasped my hands, please Lord. Let our players win.

Napatayo bigla si Aya nang naka-three points si Ansel. Buzzer beater.

"PANALO TAYO!!" Stel shouted in joy. Sumali na rin si Aya sa pag talon at pag sigaw. I remained seated kasi hindi parin ako makapaniwala.

"Ang galing ng pinsan mo!" Aya went near me at yinugyog ang balikat ko. I smiled. "Tara na at tinatawag na tayo ni Ansel." Ani Stel at naglakad na kami papunta sa bench ng mga players.

"Congrats!" I said beaming with smile. "Wala e, pro kaya to." Kuya Ansel proudly said and tapped his chest. "Sabi ko sainyo, e. Mananalo kayo." Sabi naman ni Aya.

"Pano ba iyan? Siguradong mag papa-victory party si tito Andy para sa anak niyang Captain ng basketball team."

Tito Andy is kuya Ansel's dad and my uncle. He's very supportive kay kuya when it comes to basketball. Sabi kasi ni dad, tito Andy was a basketball player din back then.

"Yeah, he actually invited our other cousins too. He already knew na kuya's team is gonna win kaya nag handa na siya beforehand." Sabi ko. Tito Andy and I are close just like how close I am to his son kaya he tell me things. Lalo na kapag surpresa ito para kay kuya Ansel.

"Ayos!" Aya said at nag tawanan naman kami.

"M.V.P! M.V.P!" the crowd was chanting and
celebrating for Ansel. As expected, siya ang naging M.V.P ngayong season.

I took my phone out and took a video of that moment. Nag wink naman si Ansel sa camera ko at nakipag sabayan na sa ibang players.

I posted it on my Instagram account with a caption. "Congrats sa MVP namin! We're proud of you!" It was kuya's last game kasi graduating na siya so it was a special moment for him.

I didn't tag him kasi aasarin nanaman ako non'

After the game. We celebrated in a restaurant near our campus. Ansel loves Samgyupsal kaya we agreed to eat there.

Kasama rin namin ang mga barkada ni Ansel kaya medyo marami kami.

"Sayang, wala si Harlan no?" Stel nudged Aya. "Oo nga, e." and Aya agreed.

"Napaka busy na ni kuya simula noong nakapasok na sa law firm nila." I added. But I'm happy for him though. He's doing what he loves.
