Lucifer's Loves

Part 8

I love Seraphina, but sometimes she drives me nuts. Should I have said what I said to her? No, no I should not have. I know I need to apologize, but for now we both need to cool down. Still, arguments will make me cry, I have had one too many lovers who get violent when we fought, so the flashbacks kick in and now, I am running through the halls looking for Lucifer, knowing he probably is hiding from responsibility. Finally finding him lounging in the library, reading in front of the fire.
"L-luce, it. They. Help." tears continue streaming down my face and the words are barely formed, the sobs over powering everything else.
He quickly sets the book don and pulls me into his lap, holding me close and gently rubbing circles on my back, "sh, love you are alright, just breathe." he continues his rubbing as I soak his shirt.
Eventually, I calm, his voice gentle and soothing, "I'm sorry I said some things to your sister," I mumble steadying my breathing.
"Ok? Please explain what happened." he pushes his hands through my currently blue hair.
"We got in an argument, I said things, I wasn't patient. Now she probably hates me,"
"Love, I hate that I even have to say this, but Phi Phi could never hate you."

I knock on the door to Seraph's room. Hearing the loud rock playing I know she isn't feeling great.
I poke my head in, "hey, I think we should talk now that we have had a chance to breathe." I step in further
"Whatever, you can talk if you want," she has her blanket pulled up to her head rolled so she is facing the wall.
"That is not how discussions work. So sit the hell up and look at me." I do not raise my voice, 2 millennium of abusive boyfriends will make you compliant.
She sits up surprise printed across her features, "um wow ok I'm up,"
"So starting up, I'm sorry, I am an asshole and shouldn't have said that. But I see this beautiful girl, who sits in the background out of fear of being seen. When all she wants is to be seen. Because of one boy, she is terrified of love. But wants love."
She looks at me, eyes wide, "I guess you are right."
"I want you to listen to me, ok? I love you, you are gorgeous. You are only in the background because you have chosen to be. You will find love but you have to look for it. And work for it." I pull her in for a hug and feel her melt into my body, "You have a man who sees you already, fight a bit, you may find love."
