Every story has a beginning and also an end, and as for my story, I haven't met my end yet it hasn't been decided just yet. The start of my life begins here. As the daughter of Alpha Clarke.
My name is Josephine Marie Clarke and I'm what everyone calls the unwanted daughter of the Alpha. Not in the sense that he didn't love me, but more like in the sense of me being Alpha. I am first born, while my brother is second. He will grow up to be Alpha while I slave away in the kitchen with Mom and the rest of the she-wolves in my pack, which shouldn't be I am every bit of an Alpha, me being female shouldn't get in the way of that. Every day I trained till my bones hurt pushing my body beyond its limits. I spent most of my life training to be an Alpha no one said that my dream will be short-lived. Even I didn't see it coming. I was so convinced that I can be able to impress my father, only for him to advise me to find a mate and have pups like a she-wolf supposed too.
Bullshit!!
I don't want or need a mate. What I need is to become the next Alpha of this pack, my pack. I woke up early as always and I began training, I was still in the middle of training when Dad sent his beta to call me.
" Josephine your father wants to see you. "
Paul says sounding uninformed as per usual. I nod not saying anything.
" Now Josephine. "
I stop training and rolled my eyes. If this was one of Dad usual talks about me finding a mate I didn't want to hear it. Taking a deep breath I followed after Paul until we came to my father's office. Paul went in and came out moments later to say
" The Alpha will see you, you can go in now. "
I nod and went inside.
" Morning Dad. "
I say as he looked up from his laptop. Dad smiles and points towards the chair in front of me.
" Have a seat. "
Dad says his tone serious. Before Dad could say anything I began talking first.
" Dad if this about me finding a mate, I'm not ready. I don't need one."
I say trying to make him understand. Dad stayed quiet and then he smiled a little before he said
" This is not about you finding a mate Josie. This about you stepping in for me at the Alpha Meetings. "
" Why? " I asked. Dad then explains why. I listened carefully as he did.
" The Alpha king will be there but I can't be due to my duties here as Alpha. "
" I understand Dad. So does this mean you trust me? "
I asked hopefully hoping that he did that's why he's letting me do this.
" Yes, I trust you to not screw this up."
He says after a moment.
" When do I leave? "
I asked, ready to make my Dad proud. He smiles at my eagerness and says
" Now, Paul is waiting for you in the garage."
With my father words, I raced out of the office and then to my room. I quickly showered and got dressed. Within 30 minutes I was ready. I hopped in the SUV and then Paul and I were on my way.

The ride to the Alpha king's home was longer than I expected. I even fell asleep twice and we still weren't there yet. I could help but asked the question even though I knew the answer.
" Paul are we there yet? "
I asked.
" Almost. "
Paul answers robot-like as per usual. I couldn't understand why he always answers like that but I'll never ask.
" How far is almost, we have been on the road for more than four and a half hours now."
I say feeling frustrated.
" We're not far. "
Paul says again in the same tone he used earlier.
Not bothering to ask further questions. I let it go because not long after he said the words two giant gates came into view. The two giant gates had the letter SCP. Which was short for the Silver Crescent Pack. The gates opened and automatically as the surveillance camera spotted the SUV.
Fancy.
I noted as Paul drove us in, we passed many houses within the Pack before we came to the Alpha house. The Alpha King was outside waiting for us with his family. Why were they waiting for us? I wondered. It was some welcome considering it was just a meeting that I had to attend. Paul pulled up alongside the house I was barely out of the SUV when it hit me. That scent, an intoxicating scent was quickly filling my senses.
" Goddess this is not happening, not now. Not here."
I say winding up the glass and locking the door. Paul looked at me confused.
" What's wrong Josephine? "
Paul asked with genuine concern.
" My mate, my mate is somewhere in this pack. "
I say wanting to cry.
Was this a setup? Did my father send me here on purpose? I wondered folding myself as small as I could on the back seat.
" Nice one Dad. "
I murmur.
I was about to ask Paul to step in for me. If my mate is really here I didn't want to be found, but for I can even say anything the scent I have been avoiding became stronger and then the back door was yanked open.
" Mate. "
A masculine voice said before I was pulled from the backseat and into strong arms.
" Paul!! "
I squealed, wanting him to help. Paul made a step towards me and was surrounded in seconds. Paul quickly held his hand up as looked towards me and said.
" I'm sorry, Josie I want to help but I can't."
" Why not? "
I asked.
" Wolves don't stand in the way of other wolves who just found there. "
The same voice from before says answering for Paul. Feeling hurt that Paul wouldn't help me I turned to my newly found mate and yelled at him.
