"Ugh! What do I do Gladys?"

Gladys, who was chopping onions, sent her a look that meant everything.

"You're so right! I should totally wait and see what happens before worrying about it"

María explained what had happened with Kwest and she explained the awkwardness between her and Omar. The teenager always talked to Gladys about everything, since the woman was easy going and gave the best advices ever.

Gladys laughed at María's teen issues while remembering her own. "Oh god, was life more easier in those times" She thought to herself.

They talked for another hour. Babbling about María's teen issues and Gladys's grandkids. That is until Gladys had to prepare everything to serve dinner.

On her way to her cabin, María stopped by Claire's room wanting to see her bestfriend. María lifted her fist to knock on the door. But stopped suddenly when she heard moans. The young woman covered her mouth in shock. How could Claire cheat on the guy she was dating? Out of nowhere, María opened the door violently. But she couldn't prepare herself for what she was about see.

In a swift movement Jakob and Claire separated from each other's touch. María's jaw dropped on the floor as the two lovers were coughing in awkwardness.

"You?"

She pointed at Jakob.

"And you? How could you cheat on the guy you're dating?"

Then her finger drifted to Claire. Claire and Jakob were leaning their head forward. They looked like children who got grounded.

Claire stepped toward María.

"Look María, it's not what you think. Let me explain"

Claire sent Jakob a look to which Jakob nodded. María looked confused for a second but picked up the piece of the puzzle before Claire could explain.

"OH. MY. GOD! NO WAY"

"Yes way"

María jumped in place while squealing. Like a little girl who had just been told she was going to Disney World. She stopped suddenly due to the many questions she had.

"Woahh since when are you guys together"

Jakob looked at Claire before talking.

"It's been five month officially but there's more than that"

*FLASHBACK*

"I'll see you guys next summer!"

A young María yelled, as she left with her parents. Leaving her two best friends near the lake.

"Bye María!"

Both of them yelled simultaneously. Claire and Jakob made eye contact and giggled. As soon as the laugh died down, silence hovered over them. It wasn't an uncomfortable silence neither was it a pleasant one. They both redirected their gazes toward the lake and the verdancy around them. Jakob looked at Claire, admiring her side profile.
