(I DID IT! I FUCKING DID IT! Chapter Nineteen is the final chapter of this rough draft!)
The past two weeks had passed relatively peacefully in Fabeldyr. Nothing major had happened, no news of humans getting close had occurred, and everyone seemed safe. At least, until a roar shook the village.
"Aah what the hell was that?!" Ava demanded as giant thuds caused the entire village to start shaking.
"It's Cece!" Grizin replied, lowering his sword.
The two had been in the middle of a sparring match when the roar occured. Grizin's eyes were stuck on something behind Ava and she turned to see what he was looking at. A gigantic orange dragon was making her way through the village to get to them, an incredibly long tail gently swinging around. There was something in its tail, too! A mottled purple-and-orange egg.
"What the hell?!" Ava demanded.
Grizin's face went white when he saw what Ava was looking at. "No. . .damn it I didn't want this, not when a war was about to start!"
"Grizin are you two going to have a baby?" Ava asked, bewildered. "You don't seem like the type to want to be a dad, no offense."
"I don't," Grizin admitted with a sigh. "And it looks like it, yes."
The great orange dragon stopped in front of them and shoved its tail with the egg in Ava's face as it to tell her 'Look!' It looked so proud of itself.
"Cecelia, is that you?" Ava asked.
The dragon nodded. So it was Cecelia. She looked incredibly happy as she gingerly set the egg down in front of Grizin. The egg was beautiful-a collection of orange and purple scales swirling up to meet at the top.
Unfortunately, before Ava could admire the egg too much, a gigantic dragon snout came to her face and chest and knocked her backwards. Ava landed on her butt, her sword going flying in the other direction, thankfully far away from the egg.
"Cecelia. . .when did this happen?!" Grizin demanded, his face still stark white. "You-you know I don't want any kids."
Dragon Cecelia huffed and pouted. She started wagging her long tail, which was hitting buildings. Why couldn't her husband see that this was a good thing? They were helping to bring the population up! Plus, Cecelia had always wanted to be a mother.
"What the hell is going on here?!" Sonya snapped, running up to the group.
"That," Grizin informed Sonya, pointing to the egg.
Sonya looked at the egg and nodded. "Ah."
"Ah?!" Grizin retorted. "That's all you have to say?! A war just started and my wife just laid an egg and all you've got to say is 'ah?!'"
Sonya shook her head. "It's not my fault you two decided to have your own fun knowing full-well a war was starting, Grizin," she replied coolly.
Grizin opened his mouth to reply, but a giant pink tongue came out of nowhere and traveled the full length of his body, causing his hair to stick up. He sighed and closed his eyes, looking completely and totally done.
"Grizin, are you alright?" Ava asked, standing back up and coming over to him.
"I'll be fine, this is just shocking, is all," Grizin grumbled.
"Get her up to a breeding cave," Sonya ordered. "Before she destroys the whole village."
"Yes, Sonya," Grizin replied with an annoyed sigh. "Step back, Ava."
"O-okay," Ava replied, moving backwards.
Ava watched as Grizin transformed into a gigantic, dark magenta dragon. The magenta was so dark it almost looked purple. His tail gingerly wrapped around the egg, lifting it up. Spreading his wings, he took off towards the mountains.
