Previously: With someone's arms wrapped around her waist...We continue:
She jumped at the sight of it, a big hand that had been enveloping her own. All night. As well as the arms around her waist. So much for personal space am I right. She sighed. Slowly adjusting her small body in comparison to the tall muscular one behind her. She saw his feet, and her eyes worked their way up, slowly.
He was tall and lean, pale kinda. He had a nice collarbone, and a long neck. Flat lips, a nice nose. Payton? No, maybe? Mystery couldn't ever truly tell. His face seemed blurred. She rubbed her eyes, and it was him. Just peacefully asleep. Surprisingly, Mystery did not move out of arms length. She instead turned to face him. And smiled.
She curled herself up against his chest and listened to the drumming of his heart. Trying to slow her quickened breathing to match it. It didn't last too long. The happy, serene feeling was quickly washed over with a kind of fear.
----------------------------------------------------------
The sound of water hitting itself, rebounding, then hitting its self again entered the room in a violent motion. The swirling, and clashing echo's. Bouncing off the walls and reverberating into Mystery's ears. Her eyes slowly widening as she sees the dark blue water, that is rapidly filling up the room, already almost up to her ankles immediately. She jumps up, turns out she's only wearing his sweatshirt and her underwear. She cringes for a second, but as she feels the rushing water begin to reach her Shins she stops thinking and plunges onto the flooded carpet. Trodding through the cacophonous puddle that's growing in her hotel room.
She prods to the door. She tried to turn the knob. But it seemed to be locked from the outside. She pushed and pulled, her hair swinging. She blew her bangs out of her eyes and pulled with all of her might. The water was up to her knees by now.
"Payton, wake up and help me!" Her muscles tense as she pulls and yells. "PAYTON." The water is past her thighs. "HEL-p!" Mystery's voice cracked. Then she heard a crack in the door. Suddenly she was pushed back by an electrical force. She flew back. Her body pushed down into the water. She got up, soaked. Choking, she stood up and ran towards the bed.
She pulled Payton's head over towards hers. "Wake up. Paytonnn wake up!" He kept sleeping. The water was now at her waist. She choked again, crying. "Cmon, I don't wanna die man. I don't want you to die either." She sniffed and chuckled. "I also don't wanna die with you.. Wake up!" she screamed. Pounding her fist on his chest.
The water began to speed up. Reaching the top of the bed. So Mystery picked him up. She then stood up on the bed with him on her back. Crying and soaking wet. "Payton, wake up please..." She whispered. The water was back up to her waist. "Shit."
She stood there on her bed with Payton asleep on her back. She was there crying her eyes out. As the water began to race up towards her collarbone she realized. The water was getting hotter as it went up. It was burning her right now.
She got an idea and she swam and put Payton down on a dresser. "Don't move." Her voice was weak and fading. She was shaking from the heat. And she was slowly losing breath. She went under. Her eyes wide open.
The water was violent, but the deeper she went, the calmer it got. The colder, the darker, the darkness. And one light
Shining from the doorknob. Mystery follows it, pulling the keys from his hoodie pocket. She grasps the doorknob, and attaches her feet to the door so she doesn't float away. Her hair floats clingingly around her face as she takes the key and begins to unscrew the small screws that hold the door knob into the wall.
She succeeds, the knob slowly falling through and down into the ever changing waters. She looks through the hole, hoping that it leads to an opening. As she does this she is pushed back by the same electrical force from before. She catches a glimpse of a yellow and red eye glaring at her through her homemade peep hole.
She is in pain now, her body thrown backwards as she's holding on to the last gasp of breath she can muster. She's pushed into a dresser through the pitch black boiling water. (she was pushed upwards.) Her head hit the dresser first, making her vision dizzy. She began crying again, her tears blurring into the water. Her nose began to bleed and the blood was enveloping her head.
Making a mess of her hair, and Payton's sweater.
----------------------------------------------------------
Payton's body was under water by now, and in the hottest water. Somehow though his skin should have probably got a full body 3rd degree burn. But he was fast asleep, or rather he had awoken but then he passed out, and he was now floating unconscious through the water.
He floated down, his breath gone. He floated down in front of her. Front of her. Of her. Her. She saw him just as her vision was begging her to give in and let go. Her eyes flashed. She couldn't give in now, not when someone else was in danger. She shook herself off and moved her body to push away from the dresser towards him.
She reached for him, and caught him. She then shook him, urging him to wake up. He didn't respond so she tried the chest CPR without doing the mouth to mouth. But it doesn't work as well under water. Inside she feels like if she doesn't let this oxygen go she will explode.
So she does it, she brings his face up to hers. Clenching her fingers down on his nose. She pushes the remains of the air from her mouth into his. His eyes pop open. Mystery smiles at him, Payton smiles back at her. But then.
The light in Mystery's eyes fades to nothing. The smile is still there. She slowly drifts to the soggy carpet floor. Payton's smile turns into a frown.
To be continued..
(oh boy oh boy, this is long as heck)
