This used to be
Just a friendship
With benefits.
But you started to
Catch feelings.

Which I didn't
I knew about that
But I tried not to care
Or think about it
Even though I knew
I still kissed you
And still spent time with you
Made you smile
And had deep conversations
Hoped to just be friends
But also a little more
Than just friends
And a little less
Than a serious thing
After all this time
I got to know you really good
And really like you
A lot.
But still not in the right way
Not in the way for a romantic relationship
It's not enough
And it won't ever be.
