the next day, as i'm curled up next to Jacques' limp body, i hear the gentle buzz of my phone.
"hello?" i whisper into the phone.
"hello, Janet. this is Marie Turner speaking. i am one of the entertainment specialists on The Sunrise, the state's local morning talk show. we want you to come on our show for your debut performance and interview on Monday."
i gasped. this really was huge. The Sunrise was our most locally watched program, with over a million daily viewers. there was no way I could turn this down.
"okay, Ms. Turner, thank you. i'll have to take it up with my manager but..." i couldn't help but smile a little, "how could i say no?"
