"London bridge is falling down
Falling down, falling down
London bridge is falling down-"
He was interrupted by a loud knock on the door, the man placed his glass of brandy and turned around in his seat to great is uninvited guest, not even a guest.
Just a random visitor.
"What?" He asked, as a head of dark blonde hair popped through followed by a young man.
"Sir the deed is done," the boy said his bright blue eyes being hidden by the darkness of the dim lit room. "If that is all, I want you to leave Ryan, you just interrupted me." The man stood from his seat and stood by the window and watched the city, and right in front of him was the great London Bridge.
He watched its shadow in the night, "you're still here?" He asked and looked over his shoulder. He was fairly handsome and a Casanova in the day but then he led the guild in the night time.
He'd been part of the society for quite sometime he'd joined with his brother, his ancestors had always been part of it. It had run though their blood it was as if it was fate to lead the guild. Somehow he'd expected for his brother to lead them.
Money and a few lies can get you far ahead in life, "who said money can't buy happiness?" He spoke out of thought.
"Sir?" The boy asked, he wasn't sure if he was being spoken to. The man turned around, "who said money can't buy happiness?"
Was this a trick question? The blue eyed boy asked himself, "I don't know." Ryan said unsure, his eyes wondered around the room he didn't know why but he had grown nervous.
The man realised this, "you look nervous, why don't you pour yourself a glass?"
And he did. "Let me tell you this, they were wrong!" The man broke out in a loud guffaw of a laugh and threw his head back, he couldn't believe that people lived off this motto mainly because they didn't have it.
Fools.
"Are sure Hound is no longer living?"
He asked and turned back to the window. The boy gulped down the drink and nodded his quickly. "Shall I join the guild now?" He asked hopeful, the drink had done wonders and was already loosening up his stiff nerves.
"You were always a member Ryan," the dark powerful man said, confusion struck the boy. "What do you mean?"
The man was quite amused had his father not told him of the guild or was he as stupid as the archer's boy? Women were vile creatures and only useful for two things; pleasure and bearing children. Nothing more nothing less.
Funny enough no member of the guild had ever had a female child just to emphasize their purpose.
"Daddy was keeping secrets wasn't he?" The man said, the boy looked down to his beverage. He didn't know what he would say to that. The brown liquid held his interest.
"My father is gone, dead, buried. He hadn't told me everything." Ryan spoke never removing his gaze from strong brown liquid which had done him justice.
"Now leave, I have things to do." The man commanded suddenly, the boy abruptly stood from his seat and left for the door.
"Good night Mr Golde."
