"I just can believe this day is here already! My little baby is going away." My mom howled, squeezing me into a tight hug.
my cheeks turned pink with embarrassment as Asher and Annie chuckled.
"Come on mom, the little birdy has to leave the nest eventually." Maddie smiled, pulling my mom away.
We were all standing at the front door. Me, Annie, Asher, my mom, Maddie and Eddie.
Asher, Annie and I were leaving for college today. Classes start from day after and today we were moving to the apartment and settling down. Luckily Asher had managed to get an apartment on the street bang opposite ours. I could tell how happy he and Annie were to be together and I was so happy for them.
"Well anyways," my mom dabbed her eyes with a napkin,"I packed you guys some food from Chipotle for the drive."
"Thanks Mellisa you know how much I love me some good Mexican." Annie said, licking her lips happily. Asher smiled at her cuteness and put his arm around her, pulling her closer to him.
"The taxi's here." Eddie pointed out.
"We'll give you a minute." Annie said, as she and Asher went to put their bags in the taxi.
I turned to my family, Eddie included. "I'll miss you guys so much." I let the emotion I was holding in seep through my voice.
"We'll miss you too honey." My mom hugged me tightly, giving me two kisses on my cheeks. "I'm always so proud of you." She whispered, pulling away.
Eddie moved in to give me a hug and a peck on my forehead. He looked down at me affectionately,"Good luck lil sis. And remember to have fun." I hugged him back tightly before turning to Maddie who for the first time actually looked like she was going to cry.
"bye butthead. I'll miss you a little." She sniffed.
I rolled my eyes at her and laughed. "I'll miss you too fool. Give me a hug." I pulled her towards me and she buried her face into my shoulder.
She pulled away, kissing every inch of my face. "have fun and work hard. You'll do great things sissy."
I gave her a smile, pulling away to pick up my luggage. She grabbed my arm,"oh and don't worry about Johnny. You guys will figure things out. You always do."
I gave her a shrug, picking up my bag and moving towards the taxi. The taxi driver took my suitcase from me and stuffed it into the trunk. "Bye!" I waved, looking back one last time.
My mom blew me kisses and Maddie and Eddie waved with big smiles on their faces.
I took a deep breath before opening the passenger's seat and sitting down next to Annie.
Asher cleared his throat,"6th street on New haven please."
The driver grunted in response and the car began moving.
I scrolled through Instagram and saw my mom just posted something,

I switched my phone off and shifted comfortably. Annie squeezed my thigh excitedly. "it's going to be great."
I smiled at her, putting my head on her shoulder and shutting my eyes with a satisfactory sigh.
