Kenzie's P.O.V
"god I cannot eat anymore." Asher groaned, setting his chopsticks down.
Annie and I looked at each other and giggled, still stuffing our faces with sushis.
"I'm stealing them from you then." I said, picking up the three California rolls from his plate with my chopsticks one by one.
Annie sighed contentedly, as she finished her plate of sushi.
"What are we doing after this?" She asked, sipping on her sweet tea.
"I guess we could just walk around?" I suggested with a shrug.
"I say we go on over to Yale and roam around the campus." Asher offered enthusiastically.
"Yeah. Sounds good." I agreed, before gesturing to a waiter to get the cheque.
"Woah I can't believe it's our first day of college tomorrow. We'll have to attend lectures and stuff. Wow we're grown up." Annie commented.
Asher shrugged,"I mean I'm pretty glad I got in through my sports quota. I'll get to play a lot of basketball there it'll be sick."
Annie added enthusiastically about attending a lot of crazy parties and Asher laughed.
I smiled, absorbing all of that in.
I was planning to work hard and have a good time but side by side
I knew I would have to start focusing on my music and my YouTube channel as well.
It would probably be good for me to start writing a lot more originals, as it would increase my chances of getting noticed and being unique.
I day dreamed a little longer as Asher and Annie conversed, thinking I was paying attention as I nodded at them from time to time.
We paid the check and then decided to walk to Yale since it was only a few minutes away.
As we reached all three of our jaws dropped.
"it's fricking huge." Annie voiced out and Asher and I nodded silently in agreement.
"Come on then." Asher cleared his throat, snapping us all out of it and Annie and I followed him in.
"amazing." I breathed as we moved around, checking out the enormous campus and the red buildings
Asher turned to me and Annie with puppy dog eyes.
"Guys can we please go check out the gym? I'm dying to see the basketball court. Pleaseee?"
Annie laughed,"I'll come with you."
"Yay! Do you wanna come too kenz or should we meet you outside in a bit?" Asher asked turning to me.
"Meet me outside. I wanna take a walk around and explore." I replied and they both nodded before walking off to see the gym.
I walked around the grassy campus in complete awe.
I mean I always knew Yale was pretty fancy and stuff but I wasn't expecting this. This was like 10 time better than what I was expecting.
I moved around, looking at everything dazedly. No wonder Johnny was so keen on coming here. He told me that Dale had brought him here when he was 12 years old and ever since then he had been dying to get into Yale.
I was so lost in thought that I didn't notice as my leg tripped over something and I felt myself falling forwards, my entire life flashing before my eyes.
Thankfully I managed to get catch my balance in time and swiftly avoided falling on my face.
"Sorry sorry! Are you okay?" I heard a voice and I looked down to see a fair girl, with a sleek black ponytail and tiny freckles dotted on her face holding a book in her hands.
I flushed in embarrassment.
"Yeah, sorry for tripping on your foot. I'm such a clutz."
She laughed and I immediately warmed up to her, her laugh sounding friendly.
"if anyone can relate it's definitely me. I'm capable of tripping on absolutely nothing." She stood up, laughing slightly.
I chuckled.
"I'm kenzie." I stuck my hand out for some reason, mentally kicking myself a second later for being so weird. She grabbed it amusedly shaking it.
"I'm Dylan. Dylan Conrique." She gave me a cute smile. It hit me for a second that she looked very familiar, but I couldn't imagine where I possibly could have seen her.
"so you're in Yale?" I asked.
She nodded.
"Yep, me and my twin brother. But sometimes I honestly don't know how he got in. I swear he lacks some brain cells." She said looking dead serious and making me crack up.
"so kenzie, what's your story?" She said, sitting back down on the grass and patting the spot next to her for me to sit down.
I crouched down besides her.
"Well I worked my butt off in the SATS and somehow landed up here." I shrugged.
"Nice." Dylan commented.
It was really easy talking to her cause she just seemed so chill.
She yawned, as she stretched lazily.
"I'm looking forward to when the college parties around here start. Honestly can't wait to see Ashton Arbab chugging beer out of a barrel." She snickered making my ears prick up.
"Ashton arbab?" I asked, my eyes widening.
She nodded, facing me.
"By the look on your face I'm guessing you know him? Riverdale high's biggest douche bag." She sighed.
"Yeah..definitely heard of him and seen him." I coughed, remembering him as the jerk who was being rough with Johnny on the field on the day of the match. I hadn't heard good things about him from Hayden either.
He got into Yale too?
"so you lived in Pittsburgh?" Dylan asked and I nodded.
"Yep. Milwood." I replied her question in advance, knowing she'd probably ask anyways.
"Ahh."
Suddenly we were interrupted by Annie and Asher's voice coming from a few yards away.
I turned around to see them waving and calling me.
"That's my que." I stood up.
"Bye kenzie, See ya tomorrow and don't forget about me." Dylan warned.
I chuckled,"no promises."
She scowled at me and I laughed.
"Just kidding. See you."
She waved, getting back to her book and I ran over to Asher and Annie.
"How was the gym?" I asked, as we made our way towards the gate.
"Amazing," Asher's eyes shone.
"I have a feeling we're going to have a blast here."

I updated a little early cause Im leaving tomorrow to go somewhere for summer break and irdk when or where I'll get any wifi to update so just a little warning, don't get mad if I leave you guys hanging for like 10 days😶
