Blind Eyes (DISCONTINUED)

Chapter 4

I pull the box out and take it to paper off of it. I'm walking over to Parker when he gets up. "What's that?"

"I don't know. Jaime and I put a time capsule and I don't remember putting a piece of paper on it."

"This is weird."

I unfold the paper and read it.

Go here and find Jaime's favorite book there you will find the next clue.

Then there was something taped to the back and it was a bracelet. "It's one in the morning we should go home. I'll drive you"

"It's fine I'll walk."

"Do you always walk everywhere?"

"Yeah. I like the fresh air."

"I'll let you walk. My mom is probably going to yell at me for sneaking out, but my dad will be worse."

That reminds me of my dad. He died when I was only seven. My mom went through a tough time. She didn't go to work for a while, but then she decided to got a job. So she got a good hub that pays well and then she adopted Madison and Ian. "Ok. Bye Parker. I'll see you tomorrow."

"Bye see ya." We both leave... in the same direction which is weird because we both said goodbye to each other yet we are walking together. As I'm walking with him I fell like he just wants to be near me. I don't know what it is. Maybe he has a crush on me, but who would. There are those popular girls at our school who would die just to talk to him.

"Are you sure you don't want a ride?" He asks as we approach his car. "I'm fine. My mom will wake up to the engine. She's a light sleeper."

"Ok. Have a good night. Should we meet up to talk about the clue?"

" Sure. I'll see you tomorrow. Good night."

I'm walking home and I wave at Parker as he drives by. I'm reading the note over and over.

I get home and tiptoe to my room. Then Ian is coming out of the bathroom.

"Oh, hi Stefany. Why are you still up?"

"I went for a walk to get fresh air." Not technically a lie

"Well goodnight I'll see you tomorrow morning."

"Night Ian now go to bed."

"ok."

I walk to my room still clutching the note on the box. I have probably read the note thirty times on the way home. I look up the address and it isn't too far from here. I walk over to my desk and grab my notebook and write down a list of Jaime's favorite book there are at least

Jaime's favorite books:
- This is where it ends
- They both die at the end
- divergent series (3)
- hunger games series (3)
- Harry Potter Series (7)
- Percy Jackson series (5)

These are my options. For the series I don't know which book it is so I'm going to check all of them...in the morning.

"Wake up!"

"No!"

"Yes! We need to figure out the clue."

"I already did."

"Really?"

"Yeah now let me sleep!"

"No" Then he pulls my blanket off of me. I'm literally only wearing really short shorts and a oversized t-shirt. Then he doesn't speak. "Are you still here?"

"Y-Yeah. Get out of bed."

"No"

"Then I'll have to get you out myself." Right then I'm not even on my bed anymore. I have been lifted up and thrown over Parker's shoulder. He walked into my bathroom and put me down on the toilet seat.

"You didn't have to carry me."

"It was the only way to get you out of bed. Now brush your teeth, your mouth smells."

"Hey!"

"It's true." He says as he leaves my bathroom. I brush my teeth and hair and walk out of the bath room where I see Parker wandering around and is observing all my stuff. I walk to my drawers and get out a white v-neck t-shirt with some black jeans and my favorite black leather jacket. I grab them out and take them back to the bathroom without saying anything to Parker.

He is too interested in the stuff in my room to even notice me. I get dressed and walk out while putting my hair in a messy bun. Parker is sitting on my bed and watching me. "What are you looking at?"

"Nothing. Let's go downstairs. I'll take you out for breakfast."

"Thanks, but does my mom know I'm going out today? She's at work." My mom is a nurse at mount dessert island hospital.

"Yeah I called her on your phone when you were getting ready."

"How did you get in my phone?"

"You wrote some numbers down on a piece of paper and it was under a book."

"Oh. Um...do you want to go now or hang out for a little bit?"

"We can go now."

"Ok" I grab the paper that was with the box last night and walked out of my room and down the hall to go downstairs. I'm pretty sure Ian is at a friends house and Madison is at the mall with some friends. I put on my black converse and walk out the door with Parker behind me.

"So where are we going?" Parker tells behind me. I hand him the address so he can put it in the GPS. He puts in the address and we start to go to that book store which is where the note says to go.

We get to the store and Parker doesn't understand the note. "Like what does it even mean?"

"How do you not understand it it says 'find Jaime's favorite book there you will find the next clue' it's simple I wrote a list last night and there is a total of 20 books we have to look at."

"Ok. Let's go."

"I'll give you half of the list." Then I rip the top for lines of the piece of paper and give the bottom half to Parker. I walk to the first isle of the teens books while gently gliding my fingers across the books.

I don't understand what books have to do with finding Jaime. If they want us to find her why would they take her in the first place.

I get to the first book alphabetically which is Allegiant from the Divergent series. I pick up the book and flip through the pages and there isn't anything. I go to the four books and there isn't anything.

Then I go to the book called 'This is Where it Ends' I lift the book up and there is a charm under it. I pick it up and see it is a book. I put it back down and flip through the book and the note is on page 157 which is where the last character died.

I grab the note and put the charm in my pocket. "Parker I found it!"

"Thank God I looked through nine books and didn't find anything. So what does it say?"

Sorry I don't update a lot it the summer time and I have soooo much family coming in I don't have time to write. So sorry and the picture at the top is Stefany's outfit for the day.
