Blind Eyes (DISCONTINUED)

Chapter 7

We ran for a long time. We got so far that we lost them and ended up on a beach. I have been to Hawaii many times so I think I know where I am.

"Jaime. You know how I have an aunt that lives here?"

"Yeah."

"Her house is right down the street." and then I start walking. I walked a few steps and thought Jaime was following me but wasn't. She was just standing there looking at the water. "Aren't you coming?"

" Maybe."

"Well I would like for you to come with me but less the 30 minutes ago people were trying to kill us."

" Stefany you might not have an effect on my brother dying but I do. I just witnessed someone slit his throat."

"I'm sorry he died but I can't control that but I can make sure that you are safe."

"Stop acting so tough. I know you are still upset about your dad leaving you when you were six, but it has been eleven years get over it. He isn't coming back."

That's what got me I knew that she was going to bring that up. She is trying to put something on me. I am still upset that he left us but I should get over it. "You're right. I should get over it.  But that is not important right now. We need to go to my aunt's house."

"I don't want to go." She responds.

"What do you mean you don't want to go? You want to be safe right?"

"Right now I don't really know what I want."

"You may not know what you want but I'm going to go inside. It is getting dark. I suggest you do too, but I can't make you." With that, I walk away.

I get to my aunt's front door and ring the doorbell. A few seconds later she comes to the door. "Stefany babydoll what are you doing here?"

"Hi, Auntie. It's a long story I guess."

"Well, I don't have anything planned tonight so you can tell me." I walk in and sit on the couch. nothing has really changed since I have been her freshman year. "Honey do you want Guava juice?"

"Yes please." I hear her pour the juice in the glass. I get up and go to the window and see if Jaime is still there. She is standing in the water knee-deep and is just looking at the water. Auntie comes up to the window too. "Is she your friend?"

"Yeah, we got into an argument a little while ago."

"So, I want to hear the long story." We go to the couch and I tell her everything. That happened starting with Jaime's birthday to now. "Well, that's some crazy shit."

"Auntie!"

"It's true. Jaime getting kidnapped and her brother getting murdered. No wonder she looks all depressed outside."

"I just don't know what to do. She is mad at me right now and I don't want to lose my best friend."

"I know what you mean. no one wants to lose their best friend."

"I just want her to be safe." Then there is a loud crack of lightning and I look out the window and it is pouring down rain. I still see Jaime sitting in the rain. "I better go out and get her."

"You should, we don't want her to get a cold."

I get her inside and put a blanket around her. It's about ten o'clock at night so I think we should go to bed. "Hey, Auntie can Jaime sleep in the guest room tonight?"

"Of course honey."

I get Jaime to the guest room and I go to my room to change and let sleep take over me.

I wake up the next morning to the smell of my favorite food. Spam Fried Rice. I get up to go to the kitchen and I see Jaime at the island and Auntie at the stove. "Good morning," Jaime said. "Good morning. Is that my favorite food I smell?"

"Yes, it is dear. Would you like sriracha on it?"

"Yes, please. But Jaime it is very spicy."

"Ok, I would not like any please."

We both get our bowls and I start wolfing it down. By the time I'm done Jaime has half a bowl. "Auntie, can we go to the mall today and get swimsuits to go swimming today?"

"Yes, of course, you can we can go in an hour. Wear something comfortable we are going to get you better clothes than the ones you have."

We both nodded and went to our rooms I put on some shorts and a sweatshirt and Jaime came out in a sweatshirt and another pair of shorts.

We got in the car and drove the 8 minutes to get there and we went to so many different stores. We went to Hollister, The Gap, and we went to get toiletries and a suitcase for our stuff when we go home. The Gap had swimsuits so we got some. I got two, one light blue bikini with white polka dots and a black one piece. Jaime got 2 bikinis one black one with fringe on the top and a simple red one.

We go home and get changed in our swimsuits. I put my bikini on and Jaime put on her the red bikini. We went to the beach for a while. We put our towels out and I read my book for a while and Jaime was just tanning. I put my book away and I wanted to take a nap. I was almost asleep when water was poured all over me. I opened my eyes to see Jaime with a bucket in her hand. Everyone knows not to wake me up when I'm trying to sleep. "You're dead," I say while getting up.

I chase her to the water and we start splashing each other. After about an hour of that, I hear thunder. "We have to get inside." And Jaime nods her head. We get our stuff and go inside to take showers.

We are all ready to go out to dinner tonight it's about six o clock. I was wearing some jeans and a tank top with a sweater on top. Jaime was wearing jeans and a tshirt.Then there's a knock at the door. We all freeze I go to the door and see the one person I thought I would never see again.
