That night I sat on my bed, watching tv and eating popcorn, when my phone began to buzz. I picked it up and read the message.
-Hi- this is Brad from school, do you know anything about cameras?
I smiled and sent a reply.
-Yeah! How come?
-I'm going to the basketball game tomorrow as a photographer for this thing in the newspaper, but I'm not really sure how to work the high- tec camera. Would you want to come with and help me out?
-sounds great!!
The next day I walked into the school with a smile on my face. Brad walked up to me as I was opening my locker, showing me the camera he had borrowed. "We're still on for tonight, right?" he asked. "yeah," I said, smiling. "Jordan and Brianna are coming too, so it won't be awkward or anything," Brad said.
After school, i went to the gym to watch the basketball game. I immidiately found Brianna, Jordan, and Brad sitting towards the top of the bleachers. "Hi Julie!" Brianna shouted brightly. I climbed the stairs up to them, and once i got there Brianna reached for my shoulder length, light brown hair- she always liked to play with it. I sat down next to Brad, and he handed me the camera. "Well, first of all you really need to make sure to kep the strap around your neck at all times. It's better not to risk dropping it," i said, turning it in my hands, then handing the neck strap to him. He wrapped it around his neck, and nodded in aggreement.
As the night progressed, I taught Brad the basics of how to take good photos, and soon he was up and walking around the court, taking different shots. There was a loud bell as the clock ticked down to zero, and the game was over. We had won.
"Thanks for helping me tonight Julie," Brad said as we left the highschool. I grinned, "No problem, I enjoyed myself,". "Are you sure you don't want a ride?" he asked. "yeah, Brianna said she'd take me home, don't worry about it," I replied, as Brianna and Jordan parted ways. "See you tomorrow then," He said, lightly waving.
Brianna walked me to her little beat up red car, and I told her how to get to my house. She looked over at me and laughed, "Did you seriously not notice?" she asked. "Notice what?" "That Brad is totally crushing on you!" She said playfully. I gave her a quizzical look. "I don't think that's what was going on," I replied. "Whatever you say Julie, but remember that I'm pretty awesome at figuring these types of things out." I shook my head and stared out of my window.
