Artemis

A year ago if you'd heard the name Artemis Greek you'd have thought: 'hmm nice girl...sometimes a bit shy.' Now you think ' aaagh kill it! Kill it with fire!' Because Artemis is no longer nice, in fact there's a theory round school that she's not even a girl. In fact I could write a book about the rumors about Artemis, but really she's just my sister. Even if I would almost enjoy pushing her off a cliff.

However to Artemis nothing's changed. Weirdly, though the entire female population of Olympus hates her, the males don't seem to mind her black heart. I guess they don't look past the deep blue eyes and athletic, almost curvy, petiteness.

No one's quite figured out what flipped her. Though the constant stream of councillors and therapists that come through our doors assure my parents they're 'close to cracking it'.

I watch her cry into a mirror then wipe her makeup off, reapply it and smile like she's fine. I know she's one fall away from completely shattering. And I want to help pick up the pieces when it happens.

"No I didn't do it!" My sister is shouting at a worried looking police officer, oh no change here then.

"Oh for god's sake will you just go..."

Whatever X rated comment she had made was drowned out by a piercing scream. Artemis drops her act and her eyes are full of worry. She sprints into our house and takes the stairs three at a time. I'm right behind her, followed by our mother and the harassed officers.

"Athena!" She shriekes.

She flings open the door and I hear a sharp intake of breath.

My other sister is sitting cross legged on a mat in her room. In her hands is a textbook and a phone. But what's so scary is the huge spider on her shoulder.

"Its alright you guys, my scream was just a phycological reaction to my arachnophobia."

That's Athena. Clever in every situation. I'm almost jealous, I'd be screaming blue murder by now. But Thena's calm, collected. Not fair.
