"People really have big mouths."
Harry stood straight and tall... Well as tall as he could for he was still quite a short one. Malnutrition did that to a lad. If anyone who knew James Potter at all saw Harry right in this moment they would see nothing but James. Harry had a confident demeanor to him and it wasn't going to falter anytime soon. Especially with the friends he'd made. The boy had his chin up and a small smirk plastered onto his lips. His pace was quick as he made his way towards Hagrid's hut. He knocked on the door before folding his boney hands behind his back.
A few noises of rustling from the other side came abroad. Harry raised an eyebrow. Surely he'd open the door soon.
CRASH!
It sounded like china breaking. (Harry knew this from experience)
The door opened and Harry was greeted by a large bearded man otherwise known as Hagrid. He had a cheerful smile on his face, "Ah, Harry! I was hopin' yeh would show up."
"Of course I would. Why wouldn't I?" Harry asked politely.
Hagrid made a mental sigh of relief. Oh good, arrogance hasn't gotten the better of him.
"Oh I eh.. Figured yeh'd be busy winnin' that game n all.." Hagrid said nervously, scratching the back of his head with a sheepish smile on his face.
Harry grinned, "I was great wasn't I? Marcus does a good job at coaching. Don't think I would have done it without him." The boy seemed so fixated on the game he hadn't noticed Hagrid's attitude.
The man observed such small changes in the boy since he last time they met. While yes he had a bit more pride he still remained humble. After all, he gave someone else credit too. Hagrid smiled, "Yes, it was a fairly interestin' game. Yeh had me rootin' for Slytherins for once!!" He laughed. "Yeh know as crazy as this might sound I think yer actually doin' pretty well in that house. Just promise me yeh won't go bad-" Hagrid went on as he swept up the broken tea cup on the floor. "Had me so excited when yeh came I accidentally broke a cup. Don't worry though, I have more. I'll pour yeh some tea."
Harry rolled his eye playfully, "I was wondering what broke." He lied, knowing full well what had broken. He sat down at the table only to be served a cup of strong tea.
"Thank you," Harry mumbled.
"So how's life in the castle?" Hagrid asked.
"It's rather nice actually. It's better than anything I've ever lived in before. Everyone is so nice. Draco's been helping me adjust a lot. I've made more friends. Most of the teachers are nice. Snape is still a bit of jerk if I'm being honest. I'm positive he hates me and probably Hogwarts too."
Hagrid rolled his eyes as he poured tea for himself. "Now I really doubt that, lad."
Harry gave Hagrid an unamused look, "Well I found out something about him. Maybe that'll change your perspective."
"An' what's that?"
"He tried to get past that three headed dog on Halloween. It bit him. I think he was trying to steal whatever it's guarding."
Hagrid dropped his tea pot.
"How do you know about Fluffy?"
Harry raised an eyebrow, "....Fluffy?"
"Yeah- He's mine- Bought him off a Greek chappie I met in the pub las' year- I lent him to Dumbledore to guard the-"
"Yes?" Harry asked eagerly. He was ready to get all of the information he could out of the half giant.
"Now, don't ask me anymore," Hagrid said gruffly. "That's top secret, that is."
"But Snape's trying to steal it." Harry said, making sure to emphasize the world steal.
Hagrid was having none of it.
"Rubbish," Said Hagrid. "Snape's a Hogwarts teacher. He'd do nothin' of the sort."
Harry frowned, "Surely there's more. Snape doesn't seem very fond of you. Why not return the favor?"
It was then Harry had started to really represent his house. Though Hagrid didn't notice because this was a manipulation attempt.
Hagrid, however didn't budge all the way but that didn't mean he didn't give Harry just enough information to figure things out.
Hagrid leaned into Harry's face and said these words:
"Yer meddlin' in things that don' concern yeh. It's dangerous. You forget that dog, an' you forget what it's guardin', that's between Proffesor Dumbledore an' Nicolas Flamel-"
Harry smirked, then got up. "So there's someone called Nicolas Flamel involved, is there?"
Hagrid looked furious with himself.
"Thanks for the tea but I've really got to get going. I'll catch you later."
And with that, Harry took his leave.
