Helen and the kids made it out the back and into the greenhouse.
The witch hunters split up. Ernst went to search on the first floor. Friedrich went into the basement, and Michael went upstairs.Michael slowly made his way up the steps looking in every direction.
"Cleo hide!" Thalia loudly whispered.
"What do you think is happening?" Cleo asked.
They were scared and hiding on the floor of either side of the bedroom. The siren drowned out Michael's footsteps outside but not when he reached their front door.
Cleo looked at the door. It was unlocked! How could they forget that!?She leaped towards the door and locked it just as Michael placed his hand on the knob and tried to get in.
He of course is only met with a now locked door but he heard Cleo scurry back into her hiding spot. This confirms someone is inside.
He bangs on the door. "Open up!" he yells, and continues shoving, kicking, pounding on the door...
In the next room Epiphany was asleep. More accurately, astral projecting. She was floating in a midst of an Italian city. Then birds struck past her almost as if they were there with her. She heard a faint yelling in the background.
"Open up!" The voice yelled from a distance. What's all the commotion? She thought and turned around. But now she wasn't in Italy. She was in Cleo and Thalia's room and the yelling was now a very close one.
She stood in the center of the room and she saw the door being budged into. "You can't hide forever! Face me!" Michael yelled.
Cleo let out a faint cry and covered her mouth. "Shh." Thalia said in a hopeless voice. He already heard them and was trying to get in. What's the use of hiding.
I have to help!Gasp! Epiphany rose out of bed and fell onto the floor regaining consciousness and her senses.
She turned toward her own door now. She grabbed a small chain from her dresser and placed it around her neck and walked towards her door.
Then she opened it and stepped outside.
Michael and Epiphany met face to face. Epiphany came out with her hands up in the air.
"Witch! I'll kill you!" Michael declared.
"No you won't!" Epiphany commanded, now bringing her 2 separated hands together in a loud erupting clap faster than his finger could reach the trigger.
The wave of energy made Michael's eyes roll back in his head and become paralyzed in stillness.
Epiphany grabbed the chain from her neck and swung it around while singing a song.
"Do you remember? The day that you left.
The child and a mother grew hastily without rest.
Don't you see? Don't you know?
You caused it all."
Epiphany had him locked in a trance. All while understanding his mental state sending him straight into a nightmare.
He is reliving the moment in his life when he left his girlfriend at 22 because he found out she was pregnant.Inside of Cleo's room they could hear Epiphany saying something.
"I'm done being scared." Thalia said.
"Don't get any smart ideas. We should barricade the door." Cleo said, the fear still lingering in her voice.
"Barricade the door? And leave Epiphany out there? We have to fight whoever is out of it! We're witches! Strong and powerful!" Thalia said heroically.
"But a bullet can still kill us like regular people. We don't have any special powers." Cleo argued.
Thalia thought for a second. They weren't exactly the dream team... because of Cleo's fascination with fashion and appearance she had dealt with the world of Glamour Spells, a practice in witchcraft that deals with manipulating the way you are perceived. If you're going on a date you make yourself seem more alluring or beautiful. If you are going to a job interview you can make yourself more memorable or seem more educated.
And Thalia was a dancer. Her skills were here in the physical realm but that doesn't mean it doesn't play a role in witchcraft. Through spells she is able to use her body in anyway she sees fit. She can dance out a designed ritual to bring out a certain something in any situation. She can direct, invoke and banish.
But such things have always been planned and meticulously put together with herbs and crystals.
They don't have the luxury here.
"I don't care! I know that if we make an effort he won't overpower us." Thalia said.
"Please, Thalia don't act impulsively." Cleo Said.
"I'm a dancer, I'm strong! Fighting dosent just mean throwing punches." Thalia said and she made her way to the door.
"Thalia wait don-"
She opened the door and saw Michael from behind but failed to understand the situation and acknowledge Epiphany's presence.
She saw him and felt empowered, her body, she felt was her ultimate power. She had to use it!
She leaped up on his back bringing him forward into the hallway wall face first.
"No! What are you doing!" Epiphany yelled. She was bringing him back to reality. His eyes opened and he grunted.
"Thalia!" Cleo yelled and ran out the room into the scene.
The guy pushed backwards into the opposite wall hitting Thalia. She yelled, and a picture of Cleo on the wall fell and shattered.
Thalia placed her feet flat on the wall and pushed as hard as she could bringing the guy once again to the wall but he caught himself.
"Get off!" He shouted.
He cocked the shotgun and turned viscously to throw her off but she managed to stay on.
He was now facing Cleo and she backed up in fright. He pointed it at her.
"Cleo!" Thalia and Epiphany yelled.
Thalia pushed her fingers into the mans eyes but he still shot.
Boom! Cleo was sent aback into the railings beside the staircase. She placed her hand on the bar and it cracked.
"Ahhhhh!!" Michael grunted and he shot again.
It pushed Cleo breaking the railing and she fell down. Her last moment of consciousness was in the air. Why didn't you listen to me Thalia?
The blow of hitting the floor blew the life out of her and her body lay lifeless on the floor in front of Jeanne's...
"No!" Thalia cried out. She wailed and wanted to go after her but Epiphany grabbed her and directed her to the threat.
He was on the ground and wiping his eyes. Thalia has punctured one and it was bleeding all over his face.
He tried reaching for the gun but Thalia got it first and pointed it at him.
"I'll kill you!" Thalia yelled.
Michael had to think quick. He was now in a deadly situation. It was just him and 2 targets in a bedroom hallway. He couldn't see properly from his injured eye and that would lead to his downfall.
He reached to his belt carefully to get a large dagger.
Epiphany noticed, "Shoot him!" She demanded.
Thalia pulled the trigger but only a click sounded.
Michael grinned. Thank you holy father. Now!
He pulled out the dagger and cut Thalia's hand making her release the gun. With his foot Michael pushed it behind him.
Thalia yelped. Then she looked back up at him with determination in her eyes. Cleo was dead she knew it. She knew it was her fault but she also knew none of this would've happened if he weren't here!
"For Cleo!" She charged at him once more.
She pushed him, he stepped back but onto the gun and slipped. While he slipped he managed to get a slice onto Thalia's abdomen. Then he fell down the stairs next to Jeanne. He hit his head against the window frame knocking him unconscious.
Thalia let out a small breath of relief.
