Beep! Beep! Beep!
I stretched and took of the alarm that was ringing nonstop.Today was the day I return to school. To say I'm nervous was an understandment.I tried saying encouraging things in my mind to help get rid of my nervousness. The only thing that came out of it is I'm crazy. This is how it went.I'm totally prepared for today.
But my conscience had to disagree.
Lies.
I can do this.
Keep telling yourself that.Shut up!
You're basically telling yourself to shut up because I'm your self conscience, idiot! You're right, don't call me an idiot! You are the definition of stupidity.
Ah Ah same person.I don't have time for this.
See what I mean by crazy?I was basically telling myself off.Feeling slightly grumpy that I have to get up so early, I left the love of my life saying I'll come back soon a.k.a my bed.I am so not a morning person.
I took a nice cold shower then picked out random clothes to wear which happened to be a black jeans and an oversized grey hoodie.Perfect.I then paired it off with a pair of grey sneakers.
Comfort is my middle name.
Having about twenty minutes left before the boys pick me up I decided to quickly plait my hair into two French braids then took the stairs two at a time to go downstairs for breakfast."Good morning."
"Good morning dear! How did you sleep?"My grandmother asked. She was sitting on a stool by the kitchen counter drinking a cup of tea while reading the newspaper.
"I slept just fine."I managed to croak out.I lied.Ever since I came home from the hospital I haven't really been sleeping.I keep getting nightmares about the accident and my family's murder. My mind is building up images ever since I read the newspapers that described their murders.I know I should not have done that but I just needed to know.
According to the newspapers the murders happened around 6:30pm.My father had six bullets on his body.My mother, four and Zara, one bullet to the head. The house was completely trashed.Nothing was stolen, the money and jewelry were still in the safe. One thing's for sure.It was not your ordinary neighborhood robbery. The police suspect the intruders were looking for something other than money but gave up on the case because no clues were found.Whoever it was, really knew what they were doing. It doesn't take a genius to figure out my pursuers had something to do with my family's murder case. The thing that scares me the most is the fact that my parents knew these people because there were no signs of forced entry.
She put down the newspaper and looked at me,"You don't have to go today if you don't want to.You could stay home and relax."Her eyes looked worried and concerned.
"Grandma, don't worry.I can't stay cooped up in here forever.I'll be fine,I promise.I have the guys remember?" I tried reassuring her.
She looked slightly relieved when I mentioned the boys.
"Yes! And they should be here any time now so you better eat what you can."I nodded and went straight for the Cocoa Pebbles cereal box.
***************************I ran up to my room to grab my book bag when I heard honking.Right on time.
Quickly but carefully I descended the stairs and waved by grandma goodbye as I dashed out the front door.
