The Sidelines..

Clingy Sloth..

**Soo.. I am having writers block for my other book so I wanted to test my luck with 'The Sidelines'!**

**April's POV**

..Jade opened her mouth to say something but was interrupted by loud cries.

Next thing I know, Ava is jumping in my arms sobbing in my chest. "Woah Smalls, what's wrong?!" I say wrapping my arms around her small, shaking frame.

 "H - he broke u - up with me..!!" She barely manages through her sobs. Wait what? That boy is dead meat, I never liked him.

 My eyes widen slightly, "Sam did, but why!?" I said getting louder. I feel her shake her head on my chest and continue sobbing. I rub the back of her head while shushing her quietly, looking for the demon spawn.

I spot him and start standing up but I feel a hand pull me down by my shoulder and turn to see Jade, "You need to comfort Ava, I got Sam." She says and gives me a small smile. I look between Ava and Sam a few times, then at Jade before slowly nodding. She drops her grip and turns toward Sam, walking over to him. She taps Sam shoulder and I can see her trying to keep her composure. 

I continue watching before hearing small whimpers come from the petite girl clinging onto me. I stroke her hair and whisper, "Hey, it's alright.. You'll find someone say better then Sam ever was.." I can tell my words calmed her as her sobbing subsides and her shaking diminishes. I continue to comfort her and spy on Sam and Jade as she eventually falls asleep in my arms. How did she fall asleep, it's so loud in here! It's a cafeteria!

Well, that is until I see a Pop-tart in my face. "Guess what I got..!" I hear Shiloh's voice say behind the food. Seriously, can't she I'm busy..!?

I shush her and nod towards Ava and her eyes widen as if she only just noticed her. "Sorry.." She whisper yells but then she looks confused. "This is a cafeteria, your supposed to be loud." She yell whispers again and I shake my head. I turn to look towards School Jade yelling at Sam but I can still feel Shiloh's piercing stare.

I whip my head towards her and startle her. "What..!" I yell whisper.

 "Uh, why is Ava sleeping on you?" She speaks quietly. Ava didn't tell Shy first, there like besties?

 "Sam broke up with her." I told her bluntly. Her jaw drops and her eyes widen, "Serioulsy..!?" She gets louder. I shush her and nod. Her face goes red and her jaw clenches, then she stands up and stomps towards Jade and Sam.  This can't be good..

I watch as Shiloh kicks the back Inside of Sam's knee, and he falls catching himself with his hands. He stands up and I can tell hes yelling at Shy from his hand movement. He puts his fist up and just as he's about to punch her, when Jade kicks his groin from behind and he drops his fist and covers his junk. This was actually quite hilarious.. While he's distracted and bent over, Shiloh knees him in the face. He jumps up and covers his nose which is now seeing blood and runs out of the cafeteria. 

I feel squirming under me and see Ava tightening her grip on me, poor Ava.. Shiloh and Jade make their way I've over here looking innocent. I get in an Idea when they finish walking. "I think we should head to my house, it's Friday and we can have a sleepover well being able to comfort Ava.." I say quietly but loud enough for them to hear. Shiloh jumps up and fist the air and Jade slowly nods thinking.

 " What about your mom, plus aren't you grounded..? " Jade said trying to put out all of her concerns. 

 " My mom will understand and she ungrounded me since the dance is on Monday and didn't wanna be mean. " I said quickly diminishing her worries. 

 "Speaking of the dance, who's got dates?" Shy asked popping in after her dance party.

 " Well, I dont, poor Ava doesn't know, you don't and Jade did you say yes to Jason? " I said looking up at Jade, she shook her head and started, "Nah, I only like him as a friend." I smiled at this for some reason, " We can all go shopping this weekend and go together "  I stated and they all agreed, except Ava who is still sleeping.

 " Alrighty then, let's go. " I hear Jade say as I grab Ava's thighs supporting her and she tightens her hold on my flannel. I stand up and follow behind Jade and Shiloh. Suprisingly, Ava is super light, I'm not complaining though. We go to the office and tell them some fake lie. We exit the school and all to go Shiloh's car. We pile in with Shy being the driver, Jade in the passenger seat and Ava and I in the back. 

I try to settle her down in the seat but she tightens her hold and wraps her legs around my waist tightly. I continue to try to settle her down but my efforts are useless.

"Wow, even in her sleep shes feisty as hell.." I hear Jade snicker. I shake my head and sit on my seat in defeat. "I'll just hold the stubborn thing.." I say glaring at Ava. 

Shiloh pulls out of this school and starts driving towards my house. "This weekend is gonna be hella fun." Shiloh says looking back at Ava and I through the interior rear view mirror.                        

 "Hella?" Jade ask raising a brow at Shiloh but she just shrugs. 

We make it to my house and luckily no one's home, I pick up the clinging sloth that is Ava and we head inside. "I want pizza!" I hear Shy yell and I cringe looking down making sure Ava didnt wake up. 

This is gonna be one interesting weekend..
