Held 7 feet above the ground, Lancer found himself gasping for air as his dad squeezed his neck, choking him as he saw his friends bowing down in front of his dad for the sake of saving him. "Now WATCH Lancer..." The king growled as he summoned 3 spade shaped arrows in front of each of his friends. "SEE what happens when you befriend Lighteners!" Before he could strike, Lancer summoned a spade shaped arrow of his own and struck the king in his back. Wh... What the!?" The king growled firecly, through the pain in his back, dropping Lancer in the process. Lancer took this chance to run as fast as he could away from the scene. Before Lancer turned the corner, the last thing he heard was his father shout, "YOU... YOU TRAITOR...! COME BACK HERE...!" Kris, Ralsei, and Suzie all stood up as there was no point in doing it anymore. "Alright, enough already..." Suzie growled, swinging her axe in front of her and plunged it into the ground, making the others get their guard up too. "Who the hell do you think you are?" His face shrouded in the darkness the king chillingly chuckled so chillingly that even the toughest people would have shivers sent down their spines. "Heheh... heheheheh..." The king chillingly chuckled. "To my people, I am a hero... to you?" His face then went into the light to reveal his face as he growled firecly, shouting, "I'M THE BAD GUY!!!"

Lancer ran through the mazes and caves until he saw a familiar face. "Lesser Dad!" Lancer shouted, getting Rouxls Kaard's attention. Rouxls Kaard turned his head, meeting the gaze of the sad prince. "Oh!" Rouxls Kaard gasped. "Whateth happened mine prince?" Through sobs, he told Rouxls Kaard what happened. "My... dad hurt me... and now... he's going to hurt my friends..." Lancer said through pained sobs. Usually Rouxls Kaard doesn't feel extreme, strong emotions, but he could feel his blood boil when he heard what his father did to him. Dispite the rules put against this type of action, he scooped up Lancer and carried him back home. After the silent walk to the house, he opened the door, closed the door and sat Lancer down on a kitchen chair. After locking the door behind him, he made Lancer a cup of hot chocolate and made himself a cup of tea. He then put the cup of hot chocolate in front of him and sat down  setting his cup on the table as well. Lancer downed his hot chocolate right away. As the liquid trickled down his throat, it soothed his throat, much to his content. Rouxls Kaard thought since he was in a better mood now, if would be best to tell him his idea. After a sip of tea, he got Lancer's attention. "Lancer?" Rouxls Kaard said, getting Lancer's undivided attention. "I wast thinking maybe I couldth adopth you?" Upon hearing this question, Lancer felt all of the pure joy and happiness a child should have. "I knowst you wouldn't be a prince anymore but I-" Rouxls Kaard started before being cut off by Lancer and squeezing him in a hug. "Oh Dad! Thank you thank you thank you!" Lancer shouted with neverending happiness and glee. "You're mosteth welcometh, Lancer." the puzzle maker said sweetly, rubbing the top of Lancer's hood. "Oh!" Lancer exclaimed, in suprise. "My friends must be done fighting now! Can I say goodbye?" Rouxls Kaard thought a moment before nodding. "Yes, you mayth." Rouxls Kaard answered, causing Lancer to sprint to the door. "Be careful, Lancer! And if you see the king turn back immediately!" "Okay, Dad!" Lancer called back from outside. "I will! Don't worry! Thank you! Love you, Dad!" Rouxls Kaard was shocked at first but then smiled warmly. "Seeth you soon, mine son!" Rouxls Kaard called back to Lancer.

Lancer ran as fast as he could back to the scene. Upon arriving, he saw a passed out king sprawled on the floor. "This isn't a world where kindness always wins, is it?" Ralsei asked, bowing her head in sadness and shame. "Eh, it's complicated." Suzie stated. "Yeah, sometimes there's people you just gotta' fight. But if you NEVER let your guard down then... you might just hurt someone you care about, too." "Everyone!" Lancer exclaimed running up to them and stopping in front of Kris. "You're OK!" "Lancer! Hey!!!" Suzie exclaimed, happily. "Sorry, kinda beat up your dad." "That's OK!" Lancer replied, to happy to care to correct her. "It happens! Oh, it even looks like he's having a beauty nap! That's good. He seemed cranky." "Man, you can say that again!" Suzie said, holding back her laughter. Suddenly a loud rumble followed by the vibration of the ground shook the darkner world. "Err... Lancer?" Ralsei sputtered out. "What's that noise?" "Oh, I actually came to WARN you clownlings." Lancer replied, thinking back to when he was running to see if they were okay. "I informed the guys you were fighting My Dad, but... instead of eagerly volunteering to help you, everyone just caught the "freak-outs." Now they appear to be... um... breaking through the door to the throne room." "Well, uh, that's not the best." Suzie replied, in a way, confused. Raslei, upon hearing the news, then walked in front of Lancer to talk to Kris and Suzie. "Kris... Suzie...?" Ralsei started, getting their attention. "It seems that you must hurry to the fountain. "No time for goodbyes, huh..." Suzie said, sadness growing in her voice. "Yes!!!" Lancer shouted, quickly and excitedly. "Of course goodbyes!!! We're BAD - guys so we only have BAD - byes!!!" "Heheh," Suzie chortled, happily. "You've learned a lot, huh." "Only from the best!!!" Lancer exclaimed happily. "Of the worst!!!" Then both Suzie and Lancer laughed together one last time. "OK! I'll go stop the door!!!" "Later, dude." Suzie said, sadness just barely lacing her voice. Lancer then watched as Ralsei ushered Kris and Suzie into the fountain room. After getting the door to stay shut, he rushed into the fountain room. Suzie went in first, but before Kris could get in, Lancer stopped them. "Wait, Kris!" He shouted desperately. Kris stopped and looked at him. 'What is it, Lancer?' They signed. "Well, when I was sad, someone amazing gave me a cup of hot chocolate to feel better. If where you're going has that, could you drink a cup for me? That would be a true goodbye for now." Lancer said, smiling sadly before hugging them. With a tear in their eye, they nodded, waved goodbye to Lancer, and walked through the fountain and back to the surface. Lancer then sped home back to his new dad's home.

The next day after they got back from the Darkner world, Kris put their clothes on and went to Suzie's house down their street. Kris knocked on her door and Suzie answered. "Oh, hey Kris." Suzie greeted. "Today's the day, huh? To finally say a true goodbye for now?" Kris nodded their head and with that they headed off to the neighborhood café. They went through the door, went up to the counter, and ordered two hot chocolates. They then sat at a table near a window and drank their hot chocolate. As the hot liquid trickled down Kris' throat, their throat felt like it would close off at any second. It turns out they were the one that would miss Lancer the most. "Goodbye for now, Lancer." Suzie said. 'Goodbye for now, Lancer.' Kris signed.

Back in the Darkner world Lancer drew a picture for his new dad of him, Suzie, Kris, and Ralsei battling with Kris and Ralsei's duck contraption. "Oh!" Rouxls Kaard gasped. "This is amazing, Lancer! Here!" Lancer's new dad then proceeded to hang the picture on the fridge. "Whost are they, mine dearest?" Lancer smiled sadly and warmly. "They're my friends." Lancer replied, happily. "They're the best friends anyone could ever ask for."
