Chapter 3

"You what!?" Anna reacted.

I cringed at her scream. At that moment, a baby started crying. Her mother, which I assume, glared at Anna who smiled at her apologetically and started pointing accusingly to me. I swat her hand away and I pointed back at her. Anna slapped me on my arm and again, started pointing at me. I stepped on her toe as she let out a quiet scream and I, well, pointed back at her. Anna then knocked my head and whispered, "That freaking hurts dude!"

The mother who was glaring at us a minute ago, now was giving us weird looks as if we were some crazy people. She then left as she ran away as if we're some kind of aliens. When she was nowhere in sight, Anna and I bursted out laughing on what we have done to the mother. When you just have crazy friends, you can scare others too. We calmed down and Anna continued her sentence,

"Why do you even want to help him? I mean, he's still a stranger doraloo. You just can't help a stranger like that."

I thought of what she said. She does have a point though... but if you want to help someone, why not?

"Oh yeah, I just remembered, you're too kind. See doraloo, sometimes, being too kind, it's just not...nice. When you're too kind, sometimes, you're the one who's going to get hurt in the end. Yes, I know that there's such thing as good karma but we never know, right? But if you insisted, well, good luck on that." She said as she patted on my back.

Well then, let me just prove Anna wrong.

DAY 1

"So, how is this going to work? I mean, I don't know what she looks like and what she likes."

And there, Evan started telling me about her. Her name is actually Sophie Bark. Honestly, I was trying to hold my laugh when I heard the 'Bark' part but I didn't want to be mean so...yeah.

"Well then, we have to be major stalkers for this mission. It sounds creepy but just go with it," he chuckled and I continued. "So, you have to pretend as if it was destiny who was bringing both of you back and blah blah. You must also know what to do because duhh, both of you have a past." I paused and looked at him. "We must also know where she is now and since you told me that she posts pics everyday, go check her account!"

He took out his phone and started scrolling through his phone. I couldn't help it but just stare at him. He have this dimples that looked so cute on him. He have this tousled dark brown hair and has perfectly olive skin. He kind of have this natural pink lips that looks so...tempting-

Woah Kaitlyn, slow down there a bit. You don't want to look creepy in front of him!

"Are you done checking me out? Because I'm done checking her account," he said as a smirk formed his lips.

I slapped him on the arm and acted innocent. I can feel the warm overwhelming my face with embarrassment. Yes, that word really fits me so well now.

"You don't have to act innocent you know. Just be honest because a lot of girls have been checking me out lately," he continued while he tried to give me those irresistable smile that hot guys make. Little does he know that I'm not falling for that once I'm embarrassed.

"Yeah right," I coughed which he acted as if he was hurt. "Let's just continue with this," I chuckled.

Since Sophia was now at Westfield, Evan rushed towards his car.

When I got in his car, I couldn't resist saying, "You got to slow down you know. You don't want your so called 'charming' to be gone. You're acting like a kid who just gotten a thousand of candies!"

"If you're in love, you'll feel the same thing as I do," he glared and pretty much, started the car.

As soon as we arrived at the mall, my eyes widened and literally sparkled at the huge mall. To be honest, I haven't been here before.

We went in and my jaw dropped to the ground. It was so crowded! It's like thousands of people were inside! This is not going to be easy than I thought. I looked at Evan who was already staring at me.

"You know, if you're checking me out, just admit it too so that we can be fair," I grinned.

"Let's just find her," he replied, totally changing the topic. I smirked as I finally made him embarrased or should I say, blush.

Pushing through the crowd, Evan tugged my shirt and pointed somewhere. I followed where he was pointing at and I saw a girl who had brown hair and green eyes. She had thick eyebrows and was quite tall. She is...beautiful. Now I know why Evan likes her or should I say, love her.

I suddenly felt this weird feeling which I think it was...jealousy? No, that can't be. I just met him so it can't be jealousy, right?

My cloud of thoughts was interrupted by Evan's voice.

"Hey Kaitlyn! What should we do next!?" he shouted, trying to fight the noise in the crowd.

"Umm...I don't know! Maybe, be a man to at least say hi!?" I shouted back.

He gave me those kind of poker face look and said, "Ha-ha-ha, very funny. You said you were going to help me! And now you're going to tell me to be a man? I am a man!"

"Oh really? I thought you were a girl! You can't even say hi! How can we even start if you don't at least say a word?" I chuckled.

He then shot me a glare before walking towards Sophie. I just stood there in the middle of the crowd, ignoring all the pushing and the shoving as I watch him getting closer to her. Soon enough, they started talking.

As I watch them, I observed how they look at each other because they say, 'You can see how much they love each other by the way that they look at each other'.

Evan looked at her as if she's the only one he's talking to while Sophia, she just look at him as if he was just her friend. I don't know if Evan notices it but it's quite obvious that Sophia have moved on...or maybe I'm just hoping that she moved on...

My thoughts were then distracted when someone pushed me so hard that I fell on the floor. I let out a scream by the sudden force. People started gazing at me and I just squinted as I scan the crowd, searching for the one who pushed me. Then, I saw the odd one out as he tried to hustle through the crowd. I glared and I ran after him while shouting, "Hey! You come back here! You didn't even say sorry! How could you!? Come here you, you, you...FREAK!"

"Fine! I'm sorry ma'am! I'm super sorry! I apologize! I'm sorry!" he screamed as I finally caught him while hitting him in the head with my bag.

Until I was satisfied, I gave him a fake smile and whispered, "It's okay, just don't do it again because you don't know what I'm capable of."

After that, he sprinted out of the mall. Looking around, people were looking at me in horror. I widened my eyes at them and they spun towards another direction. I held my laughter as what I did was a pretty much, crazy thing.

"Kaitlyn! I was invited in her birthday party next monday!" he squealed as he started running towards me and wave the invitation card in front of my face.

"Woah! Stop right there! Don't tell me pikachu is there that's why you're acting like a kid!" I giggled.

"Stop it, it's not funny! Can't I be excited for even just a second?" he scowled but I couldn't help but to laugh at his childish reaction.

"You're immature," I said, smirking at him. 

"I'm not! Promise. This is just how I act when I'm in love with someone, I guess?" he replied as he gave me a death glare.

"I'll just pretend that I accept that as an answer or a statement," I chuckled. "Anyways, can I see the card?"

He handed it to me and my eyes widened in shock.
