Nova

My cover of High Hopes came out today! I wanted to start the new year off well, so I decided that I'd release it today. I didn't do a music video or anything though. I wanted to wait until I release my first single to make one. So far, the fans love it. A lot of them have been complementing the way I sing and how I harmonized as well. I'm very happy with myself.

I've been writing a song and I'm in love with it. I'm not sure when I'm going to record it or anything, but I'm very excited about making a music video for the first time. Annie's music video for her upcoming song is going to be directed and filmed by me (with a little bit of her opinions thrown in there too), and I love videography so I'm also excited for that.

I've been working on the music for my first single since I got my hands on a MacBook (basically when I moved in with my family), and I've finally finished it. While my favorite genre to listen to is alternative, my favorite genre to make music is in EDM, specifically dance and house. Apple's programs through their software was enough for me to actually mix my own song, and I love it. We went into a studio so I could record my voice audio with better microphones and add some features to the song that the software didn't have. When I finally put it together, my family was overly impressed with the fact that I made the melody and everything with no help from a professional. I'm so excited to see what the fans think when I release it in the spring. My target date for release is March 15th.

Today, Annie is filming a new movie for Brat called Spring Breakaway, and Hayley is filming for something (I forgot what), so it's just me. Dad took my sisters to work and went to work, and I think mom's running errands, so I'm home alone. It's eleven in the morning and I'm nearly done with school for the day—I woke up super early because Annie was making too much noise in our room. I'm ahead by almost a week, but I know that if I take a break, I won't go back in time and end up behind. Annie's behind like she said she was last year, but I'd like to enjoy my summer. She does work though, so that makes sense.

The chorus to my first original was running through my head, but the melody to my newest song is what I'm humming. I don't know how that works. I literally just finished one song, and I'm already making another. I've had melodies written in my head and some on paper for years, so now I can really put them together, which makes me super happy.

I closed the internet tabs that held my schoolwork and opened Logic Pro X and began working the new song. About two hours later, I turned off the MacBook and headed to the kitchen. I made myself a sandwich and turned on the TV so I could watch some Netflix, and I continued my recent binge of One Day At A Time.
