"What the hell is your problem?!" I shouted at Connor.
Okay, I open my eyes in the morning, bed hair and all that and I see Connor Reynolds staring at me from the edge of my bed where he sat.
"How do you keep getting into my apartment?" I threw a pillow at him which he easily dodged.
"You left the spare key under the doormat and I made a replica of it," he said like it was normal.
"And I thought I was the crazy one," I muttered.
He smiled. It didn't exactly reach his eyes.
I got off my bed to go to the bathroom.
"We need to leave this building in five minutes," Connor said, now lying on my bed.
"I've dropped out of school," I announced proudly.
"We know. Someone told the cops that you lived here alone and so, they're on their way."
"What would they do?"
"Take you into foster care."
"Shit."
I hurried into the bathroom and screamed.
Liam was there. Shirtless. Shaving.
I swear, this boy has problems.
"Hi," he said. I shut the door and turned to Connor.
"Would you get me a driver's license?" he asked, raising his eyebrows. I stalked into the bathroom and glared at Liam.
"Morning beautiful," he said with a wink. He was honestly really good looking. I inwardly groaned and mentally slapped myself for looking at him that way.
These boys are always invading my privacy. I really disliked Liam's bad boy act. He fought in school, has various tattoos and was always wearing that damned leather jacket.
Taking a shower was really awkward knowing that Liam was right outside the shower singing like he was John Legend.
When I got dressed, Liam was playing loud music from his phone when someone knocked on my door.
"HFK officials!" someone said.
"It's the 'Home For Foster Kids' officials!" Liam said. (a/n:made that up)
"Out! Through through the window!" Connor shouted. Big mistake. They started pounding on the door, asking us to open the door.
"What? We're on the fifth floor!"
Connor was already out of the window.
"Trust me," Liam said.
"Trust you? You give me the creeps," I said. Standing there stubbornly. "How bad can foster care be?"
"Mara, not now," Liam said. They had started breaking down the door.
I sat on my bed. "No way am I jumping 200 feet with you"
Liam sighed and walked over to me and easily picked my 5'3 self off my bed and we went out through the window, there was a ladder on the wall.

"You guys would get into trouble for skipping school," I said. There was silence before they started laughing at me. "What's the joke?"
"Oh. I forgot to ask, is your dad better?" I asked Connor. He stopped walking for a brief second and looked at Liam who was looking down at the ground.
Connor shook his head. "My dad is dead," he said before going to seat on a bench. We were walking through the park on our way to someplace Connor and Liam found online where I could find out my identity. I felt terrible as I watched Connor cry into his hands.
"He just came back from Florida on Wednesday. Connor has been a wreck since then. Alfie was a huge part of his life," Liam told me.
I went to join Connor on the bench and took his hands in mine.
"I can't say I know how you feel because I do not remember my dad or anybody for that matter but I am here and I'm not going anywhere. Apart from wherever I go from Monday night to the next Monday morning. And Liam is here too. We're here for you." I hugged him and he began to cry more.
Although we just met a few days ago, moments like that make you appreciate friends, if I can call Connor and Liam friends.
"Tell her," Liam said to Connor.
"Tell her what?" I asked.
"I can't. I'm not supposed to. Plus, I just found out," Connor said.
"I don't understand..." I started.
"He loved her as much as he loved you. She deserves to know," Liam said.
"Well, now he's dead!" Connor shouted.
"You need her," Liam said. His expression showed that he was angry.
"I've got my mom."
"Your mom? The one that locked you in the basement for a week because you forgot to do the dishes?"
"She loves me," Connor was pained. His blue eyes are easy to read. I kept watching both of them.
Tension filled the air and Liam clenched his fists. "Fine. I'll just tell her."
"Don't..." Connor started but, knowing Liam wouldn't listen to him about whatever they were talking about, he jumped on Liam and the fight started. They hit each other a lot but Liam had the upper hand because he was taller and more fit, one powerful punch sent Connor flying and hitting a wall.
My hands were over my mouth all through. I knew that if I tried to stop them, I would get severely wounded. I ran over to Connor as cops came to see what was going on.
"You're a monster," I said to Liam as we were all put into a police car.
"And you are Connor's sister. Alfie's first child." Liam said.
shocker? yeah me too. I just made this chapter up as I was typing it.
