A Family Vacation

Chapter 7: We've Arrived

Agnetha's POV

June 2, 2019

After that 6 1/2 hour flight from Stockholm, I'm glad we have finally arrived in Dubai. After getting off the plane, going through customs, as well as getting our baggage from baggage claim, we finally start heading to our hotel. And to be honest, I don't know what hotel we are staying at. Bjorn probably kept it as a surprise for all of us.

We walk through crowds of people waiting outside baggage claim greeting their loved ones along with other officials. Just then, we see a sign with our names on it. Actually, there are three signs since there are so many of us. That must be the airport shuttle. Bjorn and Lena get into the first car with Emma and Anna, I go into the second car with Linda and her family, and Christian and his family get into the last car. We start heading to the hotel at least. We are all jet lagged after all. As we are driving, we can't help but check out all the sights.

"Woah!" Signe exclaimed.

"I love it here already!" Esther exclaimed.

"Well we are gonna be here for the next three weeks, we have plenty of time to explore," said Jens.

We start driving past some notable landmarks, such as the Burj Khalifa and the Dubai Mall before we finally arrived at the hotel we are staying at, Atlantis: The Palm. We arrive at the hotel at the exact same time as everyone else. After our drivers get all of our luggage out of the cars, we head to the check in counter. Bjorn and Lena go over and check all of us in on our behalf.

"How do you feel mama?" Christian asks.

"I feel good, why?"

"Just wanted to check up on you"

"Thanks sweetheart. That's very thoughtful of you"

Just then, Bjorn and Lena come back with our room keys. We go off and find the elevators and from there, we find our hotel rooms. The elevator lands on the 14th floor and after about 5 minutes of us looking for our rooms, I've finally found the room that I'm sharing with Linda and Tilda.

"Here it is!" Tilda exclaims as she opens the door to our hotel room using the room key. The door opens immediately.

Linda, Tilda, and I get into our room and put our stuff down before checking out the view from our window. Soon afterwards, we all decide to take a nap since we are all still jet lagged from the 6 1/2 flight.

Bjorn's POV

June 2, 2019

We have arrived in Dubai after a long flight and Lena and I are currently in our hotel room on the 14th floor of Atlantis: The Palm. I'm sitting on the balcony enjoying the view, but Lena has other plans.

"Bjorn! Don't you wanna take a nap?! We're all jet lagged!"

"Soon! I promise! I just have to do one more thing before I nap!"

"What?"

"I'm making reservations for dinner tonight at one of the hotel restaurants!"

"Ok then!"

And with that Lena falls asleep on her bed. I go inside, grab the room key, and I head off downstairs to check out the hotel restaurants so I can try to make reservations. There are lots of restaurants at this hotel and I must say I'm very impressed. There's a Japanese restaurant, an Italian restaurant, a steakhouse, and much more. I decide to make reservations at the steakhouse after some thought. I walk over to the restaurant and I'm greeted by the host.

"Hello! Good evening! Table for 1?!"

"Hello! I want to make a reservation for me and my family"

"How many people?"

"13"

"That's a lot of people!" the host chuckled.

"Yeah I know!" I said chuckling back.

"Can I get your name?"

"Bjorn Ulvaeus"

"Ok Bjorn. I have you down for a party of 13. Does 7:30 PM work for you?"

"Yes, that's perfect"

"Ok awesome! Party of 13 at 7:30!"

"Thank you"

"No problem! By the way, now that I'm thinking about it, weren't you a member of ABBA?"

"Yes I was"

"Awesome! My family and I have always loved listening to ABBA songs"

"Thanks"

"Anyways, see you at 7:30 for your reservation!"

"See you later!"

And with that I head back upstairs and set the alarm clock on my phone to 6:45 PM, so that way we all have time to get ready for the dinner. I then text the others letting them know about the reservation before dozing off and taking a nice nap.
