Welcome to my short story! My name is mackenzie Somar. Today is June 16, 2019 (aka) Father's Day.
This day is probably one of the hardest days for both me and my mother, giving my father divorced my mom and left my family at a very young age, he still somehow was there for all the important event that occurred while I was growing up.
Besides that , my father missed out on the beautiful experience on raising me, well (semi- beautiful experience). My mother oh man , my mother let's get straight into it.
Since day one, since the day she got the news she was pregnant the instant love between the mother and child had sprung. I have been my mothers whole world, ever since I was in her womb. I was brought up given everything, my mother kept me the freshest little kid around the block. Growing up I would like to thank my mom for teaching me independence, and not hiding me from the world.
I will always remember going ice skating by myself and my mom on the other side of that glass encouraging me to keep going around and holding on the edge until I finally got it myself. At 6 years old I knew how to ice skate all by myself. My mother use to put me out in public to do the most radical things and funnest things so I can grow, my personality and how I am today was all because of my mom.
My mother has been strong from day one. I remember one day I saw my mom crying over my dad and I was very young and I never wanted to see my mom cry, I sat by her and sang " you are my sunshine" until I saw the brightest smile on her face, that smile made me think of the time we were at the beach dancing in front of many random people but she didn't care , she wasn't embarrassed to be dancing with a 4 year old in front of people. My mom was my best friend growing up. I soon realized how over time the charts has flipped. Life started hitting. It was my teenage years and man oh man I was and probably still currently stressing my mother out, oops sorry mom, you rock.
Name someone else that could of taken better care of be growing up...... I'll wait...... ***cricket ***... I told you!! no one else could of raised me better then my mom. My mother deserves to be happy, she has worked so hard and one day I promise you I will build you a home near the beach and you and your future husband will drink wine and eat GOAT cheese on the porch. I just want to thank you for pulling it off being the mother and father in our household, you showed me anything is possible, and being independent isn't so bad. I love you mom . This isn't even a short story anymore oh goodness. Peace out
