Tracy

I waited for the car to hit me, but I heard a loud screeched of the car attempting to stop and it stopped right in front of me and I started sobbing and fell on my knees. I was just few steps away from home, I was worried that my grandma will send some people again after me.

"A-Are you okay?" I heard a voice and I looked up seeing a man, in his forties maybe? Looking down at me with concerned. His eyes was warm with concerned and I nodded my head as he helped me get up.

"I have to go." I pleaded as I looked back and he frowned.

"Are you okay?" I noticed the woman behind him and I choked seeing her, her features almost reminded me of my mom- her brunette hair in a bob cut, she was dressed in a dark blue dress and she looked at me with concerned.

I didn't want to freak them out or confuse them as someone and nodded my head. "I really have to go." I said as I limped forward.

"I think we should take you to the hospital." The man said.

"I am fine." I assured them, most probably due to the impact of my knee hitting the ground give me a little bruise.

"Are you sure?"

I nodded my head, "Thanks."

I walked away quickly and looked at them one last time. I hid in one of the store and checked my texts. My battery life is low too, making me tense. Carson was freaking out from the numerous calls and texts and someone did reply to him saying we should break up and that we are not who we are, together.

His last text to me was, yesterday and it was; when you are ready to talk about this in person. Call me.

I pressed call and he answered at once.

"Baby." He sounded relief.

"I need your help." I sob.

My grandma's butler called me and said she will be coming to meet me and brought me my bag with money in there.

"I took a risk, child." She said. "I have watched you grow as a child and I feel that you deserve happiness." She touched my shoulder. We were sitting in the park, away from home.

"What is going on?" I asked. "All of a sudden?"

She sighed and looked at me, "Your parents are planning to take legal action action your grandma."

And I felt like the time stopped completely, "What? Why?" I asked.

"Your grandma." She shake her head. "Took you against their will and hid you here for a while, A long while."

"But." I was lost for words because I thought they left me to my grandma.

"She took you against their will and they lost everything and she made it seem like they will not be able to provide you with the basic necessity, which is how your parents lost custody over you, but one of the law was to allow you to bond with your parents, but since she kept interrupting and doing something. They couldn't file a law, until now. She is scared that she will lose you."

"She wouldn't have lost me, if she didn't start all of this. We could have been happy." I whispered.

"We are humans after all, she definitely have regrets, but she is trying everything to win the case, but the legal representatives said, it is difficult because she hid you from them and didn't allow you to meet them. She even interfere with your parents works and money."

"What do you mean?" I asked, shaking with both anger and sadness. I was kept in the dark for so long and I was not made aware of that.

"Your grandma never approved of your mom, she is a doctor,I believe she still is. Not from a rich background like your dad and your grandma had plans for your dad. Take over the business and most importantly marry another heir to a big company, but your dad met your mom. They secretly got married and your grandma was mad because she made a deal to another woman. She threw your dad out from both home and the company. They didn't talk until she heard about you. She needed heir to take over her company."

"That's so." I said lost by the story.

"I know, it's crazy. She thought having you by her side will get her the reassurance her company will stay. She made sure your mom was fired from the hospital and her clinic started losing out on clients. Your dad was struggling to find a job because your grandma have influence and that's how they lost your custody because she was able to show , that they cannot provide you with the basic needs."

"Where are they now?" I asked.

"Last I heard, they moved to California and started again, and I heard they filed a law and is coming to meet you."

"T-They are coming for me? Now?" I asked.

"Your grandma hid you well. Your dad doesn't even know your grandma have a house here. Your dad was born in Alaska and was raised there."

I pursed my lip together, "Why are you telling me all of this now? Why not before?"

She looked ahead of us, to the children playing around the playground.

"I was scared of your grandma because I wanted the job." She said. "She knows what she is doing is wrong and selfish, but that's how the life shaped her."

"Please take care of her." I said taking her hand.

"As long as I have the job." She cracked a joke.

"I will make sure of that." I said.

"Don't use your cards." She said. There is enough cash for now. We don't want your grandma tracking your card."

"Do you think she will be okay?" I asked.

"I don't know? What are you planning to do?"

"Carson is coming here."

"Your boyfriend from San Francisco?"

"The way you are asking as if I have another boyfriend in another city."

She laughed. "Oh, Tracy."

I smiled at her.

"I hope everything will be okay and I hope you don't get hurt either."

"I appreciate your concern." I said and sighed and looked at the clear sky and hope that everything will be okay. Maybe not now, but hopefully soon.
