After exploring my new place, I decided to take a look in my street. "Dad, can I go outside" I asked. He shook his head, peering at me then down at his phone. I took out my phone and switched it on. Father explained that we didn't know anybody and it was too dangerous. I nodded pretending to listen. "CATHERINE, ARE YOU EVEN LISTENING" dad yelled. I flinched and moved about. "Gee, dad I'm listening" I shot an odd look at him and stood up. "Oh yeah, dad thanx for the advice" I sarcastically hissed. He rolled his eyes and stood up. "And dad my name's not Catherine anymore" I claimed and with that I strode off. His a pain in the neck.
I stepped into the kitchen smelling the chicken and chips. "Wow, that smell is so irresistible" I stated sniffing about. "Oh yeah, dad sorry-"
"Don't worry about it" he interrupted placing the food on the table. I pulled a chair out and sat down. I slowly ate my food, thinking about how he called me Catherine. Catherine was my real name but after the incident with Charles Thomas Jefferson, I named myself Annabell after my mother. A few people called me cath, but I didn't mind really.
I woke up as usual and went down to have breakfast. Dad was sipping his coffee and a newspaper in the other. "Good morning, lovely" dad greeted his eyes still on the news paper. "Morning, daddy" I replied in a British accent. My dad lifted his eyes and peered at me. "Your English accent needs bit of improving, dear" he said in a very formal British accent. I giggled pouring tea into my cup. "Well, drink up we have a big day ahead of us" he added. I nodded drinking my tea and yawning.
After a lovely shower I pulled my tank top and jeans. Quickly I dressed into them and added bit of makeup on my face. I raced downstairs. Father was waiting for me downstairs near the door. "Finished dear" he said and I nodded. He pulled the door open and stepped outside. "Beautifully day" he cheerfully said when I stepped outside. "Amazing" I agreed standing beside him. "Where are we off to" I asked. "To your college" he brightly smiled and I smiled too!
We walked there arm by arm. You might think that's weird but its not, he's my dad. I untangled my arm from his and we both stepped inside. We stood at the reception, waiting patiently until it was our turn. "Hello sir" the lady with striking blue eyes and rounded face said. She was very pretty and fit but had some kind of weird Irish accent. "I'm here for my daughter Annabell" father politely stated looking at the lady with eagerness. The lady looked back at him with a sweet, friendly smile and nodded, typing quickly on the computer. "Of course sit down" she grinned with happiness. My dad and her would be great together. Right?
We entered a small, bright room that was labelled new students. "Take a seat" the women Welcomed. we sat down on the available seat . Dad and her talked for what seemed like hours. Finally, we got to leave. Me and dad talked about what she had said and dad frowned for a minute. " did you see how she looked at you" he angrily stated and I shrugged my shoulders. "Well, anyway did you the women in the reception" I said changing the subject. He nodded and smiled. "Very sweet and nice" he said dreamingly. I giggled and he stared at me. "What, just being honest" he innocently said. I shook my head.
After a long talk with father about school and the village, I yawned I fell onto my bed. I felt too tired to even think. After a few seconds I fell into a deep, deep sleep.
