BETTY POV
I stayed in the ICU for 3-days and then went back to my room. It looked the same. Everything how I left it.
"I just need to talk to...Jughead." I moaned. Polly shook her head and taped the IV to my skin.
"No Betty-"
"Please, Polly! He hasn't come to see me."
"Get some sleep and then FaceTime him." Polly nodded. I sighed and drifted off into sleep. The Cancer was outside my lungs and spreading to my stomach and liver. This was not good. I slept for a few hours and woke up in the afternoon. The IV was still taped to my skin and I was bundled up in blankets. I grabbed my laptop off my nightstand and Video Chat, Jughead. He was sitting on his bed and he seemed surprised to see me.
"Hey! They finally let you out of the ICU!" Jughead exclaimed.
"Yeah. Honestly, it smelt really bad in there. Like poop and meds." I giggled. He laughed and I grabbed Hot Dog and showed it to the screen.
"I took good care of him! He smells like sweat...but I'll have my mom clean him. So, do you wanna go on a walk? Or at least hang out?" I asked. Jughead shook his head.
"Why?"
"I...I need to tell you something. It's really serious."
"Juggie, What is it? Talk to me."
"I needed to go into surgery on my lungs to try and remove some blockage in my Bronchial Tubes. I said I didn't want to do that." Jughead sighed. I was a little upset by this.
"Why?!" I shouted. "This could potentially save your life!"
"It won't cure the Cancer!"
"But it'll save you time! This surgery is mandatory!"
"I could die, Betty-"
"We're going to die anyways! What's the point?!" I cried out.
"Why do you care so much?!" He yelled. "I'm really tired of this!" Jughead was now red in the face.
"Tired of what?!" I yelled. There was a moment of silence and then Jughead sighed.
"Pretending that we're just friends." Jughead said. I was taken aback by this and I scoffed.
"Jughead, we've known each other for a week. This is just...a feeling. We're new friends and you-"
"I feel something between us. I know you feel it too."
"Jug...I cant go there with you. Your going to live longer than I am! I hate that, but it's true." I sighed. Jughead nodded and held up his pinkie.
"We're just friends. I understand."
"Good. I'm gonna go take a shower. After that, do you wanna go hang out with Kevin or visit Toni?" I asked.
"I'm not really feeling up to it, Betts. But, I'll talk to you later." Jughead said and immediately hung up. I took out my IV and got my slippers on. I grabbed my backpack with my oxygen rank and adjusted my oxygen tube. I walked out of my room and furiously walked down the hallway. I banged my fist on his door and he answered it.
"Before you become all mad at me, I just have to say this. You're the one that made sure that we were friends. Now, you have feelings! Don't take this out on me-" I began. I was quickly cut off by his kiss. My lips against his and it was...nothing I had ever experienced. We stopped and I stood there in shock.
"Have a good night." Jughead smiled. He walked into his room and closed his door. I had a giant grin on my face and I got back to my room. I squealed and started jumping around my room.
"Yes! Yes!" I squealed and giggled. I laid back on my bed and got a text from Veronica.
V: Kevin is going into surgery right now. Lung transplant is coming his way!
B: I'm on my way down
V: You just got out of the ICU. It's 9PM, he'll be out of surgery at 3AM. You just come by in the morning.
B: Ok, if he wakes up before, tell him I was there.
V: Alright, Goodnight
I went to sleep quickly so I could visit Kevin and spend time with Jughead tomorrow.
