Part four

Recap: I looked at him for a response, it was quiet for a bit. Until jiji began to open his mouth.

"I-

Back to story:

"I-.....Naruto....I-I'm sorry, but is it true. Did he really not mean to harm our village?"

His voice was a little shaky like he was remembering something. I looked straight in his eyes and said as serious as I can, "yes." And then he suddenly had small tears in the corner of his eyes as he let out a breathy, "thank kami."

I was little worried but I was overall happy that he now understands what happened. It was still late so I told him to go to the guest bedroom and sleep. So he did as told and left the living room. I went up to my room so I could sleep as well.

~Time skip~

I woke up early so I could make something to eat.. the only thing I really had was ramen, bread, two eggs, and some avocados....that last on I don't even know how I got those. But I choose to use them since jiji is here. I made some toasted avocado bread and a boiled egg for the both of use.

By the time I was done with platting the food and doing the dishes jiji-San had gotten up and walked in the kitchen.

"Jiji-San, good morning, I made breakfast. I hope you like it, I don't have much so this is the best I can do."I was a little worried he wouldn't like it because it not all fancy or anything compared to what he probably usually has at home.

But to my surprise he enjoyed the food very much and thanked me. So when we finished eating I put the plates in the sink to wash as jiji sat at the table in deep thought.

"Ne, Naruto? Can I ask you something" asked jiji when I finished the dishes.

"Sure! What is it?"

He had this look on his face like whatever it was he wanted to ask would hurt me or him. "How much food are you able to get"

Oh. I guess my response could maybe hurt one of our feelings because one jiji cares about my health and two the food that I get and how I get it can rile up my feelings about it. With a deep sigh I answer honesty.

"about two meals if you add up all the food I can get my hands on for a few days or more. Or maybe weeks.."

I mumbled the last part but jiji still heard it and his face showed how he did not like my answer. He was angry but I could tell it was not at me but his expression still made me whimper. Kyu-Chan was upset too and he was trying to comfort me that i was going to be alright.

"Why didn't you come and tell me and not wait for me to ask. This really serious Naruto." He was clenching his fists and knitting his brows together. I didn't give a response and just looked at the floor of the kitchen. He heaved in a breath and calmed down and waited till i looked back at him to talk again.

"I'm sorry, i know its not really your fault. How about i get you some food and gardening things so you can make your own food and a proper 3 meal A DAY. Does that sound good."

I was practically sparkling with tears on the corner of my eyes and the happiest smile i ever had. Finally, i can have good food, and more. I nodded my head rapidly while repeatedly saying 'yes' and 'please' and 'thank you's'.

~time skip~ (after going to the market)

When we came back to my hide away home we put all the food away and by that time jiji had to go back to work.

So when jiji was gone I went ahead and started to read this gardening book jiji got me.

And for the rest of the day I got to work on my new, and better, food source.
