Summer get away

Part 1: The flight

You and your family are on your way to the airport. You don't really want to leave Washington ( you live in Washington ) but your parents are making you go to Florida. You finally make it to the airport after driving for what seemed like hours. Your about to get through security when you hear beeping. You look back and see your dad and brother being patted down. What a great start to this vacation.
Dad - "hey watch where your putting your hands"
Max - " what did we do?"
Tsa person - " guys this is just protocol, the detector found something so when have to pat you down just to be safe."

After about 5 minutes they finally found what buzzed. My brother and my dad has both had there pocket knives on them 🤦🏽‍♀️. We had to be in security for 30 minutes. After everything got sorted the announcements started saying " will y/n and her family come to gate 18, to be boarded." Great I thought to myself now we have to run all the way to gate 18 to make it on our flight. I never ran so fast in my life. That was probably the most exhausting thing I've even done, carrying 3 bags while running through an airport is not fun. We finally made it but barely, they were about to close the door when we got to the gate. As we got on, my nerves got the best of me. I have always had a fear of planes, every since my friend got into a plane crash. We were about to take of when I got a text from joe. Joe was my only friend. He stuck with me through everything, even since the incident.

Joe - did you make it?
Y/n - barely we were stuck in security for like an hour
Joe - oof
Y/n - we are about to take of, and I can't control my nerves
Joe - trust me everything will be fine, just breathe and don't think about it
Y/n - ok, I'll text you after I land
Joe - ok, have an good flight
Y/n - I'll try to

You took a deep breathe and closed your eyes. You put in your headphones and listened to music trying not to think about it. Before you knew it you were in the air. You knew it would be a while before landing so you decided to close your eyes, and you fell asleep
