Kaminari Denki.
He always was one to socialise, being the friendly and casual type. People always felt comfortable around him and even though he talked a little too much,he was always fun to be around. He was born with a kind heart and always tried his best to make everyone around him genuinely smile. He may not be the most clever guy in existance,on academic level at least, but he almost always knew what to say in each situation and light up the mood when someone felt down.
That's why he always felt bad whenever he caught a glance of a certain lonely indigo haired boy in his school. He had learnt from his friends that he had a quirk named Brainwashing that he was dangerous because if he used his quirk on anyone he could even kill them. But Denki had never seen the boy pulling out such actions and had started to believe the rumours were fake and of course it didn't take long to confirm that. He had considered of trying to talk to him but he could never find topics suited and at first he blamed it on that. But Kaminari had also realised that Shinsou tended to avoid crowds and that made him think; what if Shinsou truly just wanted his piece and quiet? The blonde sure wanted to talk to him but what if he disturbed him? He wasn't about to do that. He always talked, but if he felt like he invaded personal spaces or became annoying he stopped, which of course he easily realised due to his own insecurities most of the time. So he left Shinsou alone. But even though he did,he couldn't help but smile every time their eyes met, receiving a confused expression from the other before he avoided his gaze. He didn't look annoyed so the electic boy continued trying to make eye contact as frequently as he could.
He felt bad for the guy being excluded just for his quirk,he bet that under all the silence Shinsou was a great person, probably one of these calm understanding ones. His own quirk, Electricity, was considered a cool one and was also one of the reasons he was that popular. But as he thought about it, his quirk could also be considered a dangerous, villainous one. Electricity, when used inappropriately and for a bad reason, could easily be deadly. It was even more dangerous since Denki couldn't even control it properly and he would short circuit for an hour, looking like he had been on stong drugs and being unable to function properly. Everyone though seemed not to mind the dangers. Maybe Kaminari's approachable image did the trick. He had no idea, but he knew he had to talk to Shinsou at some point. They might never see each other again after school ends, and he wanted the biy to know how he felt, hoping it would give him some confidence.
So thats what he did.
He took all the courage he had and approached the taller boy, sitting alone on a bench far away from the others, like he lived in his own personal bubble. He seemed kind if startled at first and they had that awkward eye contact moment. Except this time they were close enough for Denki to take in the other's facial details. The dark eyebags seeming even more dark up close contrasting to his pale face, his eyebrows were thinner on the inner side and widened on the outer sides, the opposite of a usual eyebrow, but it was unique and somehow fitted him perfectly. They were close enough for Denki to notice the few tiny freckles playing around the bridge of his nose, some expanding to the start of his cheeks, his eyes also not missing the slight chapness of his thin pale lips.
Kaminari then realised their akward staring had become too long so he decided to do what he intented to do on the first place.“Hey man,um, I know you usually sit alone, dunno if it’s your ambition or not but I’ve always wanted to
talk to you for some reason…”,he said scratching the back of his neck and breaking the eye contact
looking at the side “..if..if that’s cool with your of course! I mean… it’s the last day of school so
probably my last chance to try and quit chickening out”,he finished finally looking back.He never expected the boy to almost break down on him,but he of course did his best to calm him down after he let Hitoshi let it all out. He didn't know if he heard him through his clouded mind and sharp breaths, but Kaminari kept whispering as gently,as silently as he could. He kept saying 'I believe in you' or 'You will become a great hero' and such. And he held him tightly, almost as tight as the fists of the other on the back of his sweater. He wanted the boy to leave the school knowing that someone cared about him, believed in him. So he tried his best. He hoped he at least did a right thing for once, and that smile playing on Shinsou's lips when they pulled apart encouraged that he actually did. And in the end,Shinsou didn't say thank you. And Kaminari didn't feel the need to hear it. He saw it on his expression. His eyebrows slightly curved up, his eyes a little red and glassy, staring at him, and that smile which he had never, ever seen before on the boy's face. And Kaminari smiled back.
At that moment,he truly felt the need to actually close the distance between them and press their lips together, but he knew that wasn't right. He had no intentions of ruining the moment and he was already satisfied. Sure, the feeling didn't go away but it wasn't as if he could do much. So he just stood up along with the other when the bell rang, signaling they had a few hours left for their last day on the school to finish.
Denki knew he'd miss the boy once they parted, but who knows, maybe their paths would cross again.
