It was 13 O'clock when I heard the doorbell ring. After yesterday evening I had a hard time falling asleep, but when I woke up this morning I had a fresh mind like my mother had predicted. I was open minded about the things that were about to happen today. When the door was opened by my father a boy a few years older than me walked in. He looked happy and cheery. "Hi, my name is Hoseok, but you can call me Hobi, almost everyone does. I heard you just got your letter yesterday. It is so exiting!" And I stand correct. He is cheery. I shyly introduced myself and we were on our way to Diagon Alley.
"So, what do you want to get first? The textbooks, your wand, your clothes, your pet or the other equipment?" He asked me with much enthusiasm. I didn't know what to answer. He is kind of attacking me with questions and happiness. "O, you shouldn't be worried. We'll get it all. I know it may seem like much, I may seem like much, but let's start with the wand and it will be okay." He said softly. I smiled at him and we made our way. "For wand shopping we are going to Ollivanders. It is located on the south side of Diagon Alley. It is owned by the Ollivander family and it is the best wandmaker, so I am sure we can find your wand. Let's go!" The walk to the shop was relatively short. On the front of the shop were peeling gold letters spelling 'Ollivanders: Makers of Fine Wands since 382 B.C.'. The shop itself was quite narrow. Everywhere you looked there were wands displayed in boxes stacked on each other. Suddenly a boy emerged from the depths of the back of the store. "Hello, how can I help you?" He asked. Hoseok looked at him questionably. "Hello Namjoon, we are here for a wand for Jungkook over here. He is a first-year attendee at Hogwarts. Can you help us with that? Where is Mr. Ollivander?" The boy or Namjoon nodded his head and cupped his chin between his fingers like he was thinking about what Hoseok just said. "My grandfather has fallen ill. He has a cold, so until school begins again I am temporarily taking over the shop. I can help you. Let's see..." he walked over to a pile in the corner of the room. "This is a wand 11-inch-long, slightly yielding flexibility, made from hazel wood and the core is unicorn hair. Try it out." He handed me the wand. What was I supposed to do with it? Try it out, how? I flicked it and it shot a beam at the light, which made it flicker. I handed the wand right back to Namjoon. That thing weirded me out. "Okay, that wasn't the right wand. I feel like the wood is good, okay let's try this one. It's a 12 3/4 inch hard flexibility wand made from hazel wood and a phoenix feather core." He gave me the wand. I hesitated when accepting it. I wouldn't want to break anything. At first nothing happened, but after some time the wand began to glow. I was stunned at what I saw. It was amazing. "I think he found his wand, didn't he?" Hoseok chuckled softly. "He sure did. Good luck with the wand and I will probably see you guys at school." Namjoon said as we said our goodbyes and went to go to another shop.
"Okay, we got your wand, books, clothes and other equipment. The only thing left is the pet. Have you thought about what you want to get? An owl, a toad or a cat?" Hobi asked as we walked to the centre of Diagon Alley. Purchasing my supplies with Hobi has been fun so far. At first, I was very shy, but Hobi is a nice lovable guy, so I felt at ease with him quite fast. To be honest about his question, I haven't really thought about it. We went to the 'Magical Menagerie' where a lot of pets were. As soon as I walked to the cages a sound caught my attention. I walked to the cage and saw a cute little cat inside. He wasn't fully grown yet, but he looked at me with those innocent eyes, I fell in love instantly. Hoseok was somewhere behind me, but all I was focused on was the cat until suddenly Hoseok popped up beside me. "O, what a cutie! Are you getting him? Her?" He asked with interest after spotting the little animal locked in the cage. I wanted to buy her, so I looked around if I could spot a salesperson, but before I could a saleswoman already stood on the other side of me. "Hello gentlemen. I see you are interested in this little boy." She greeted us. "Hello, yes I am very interested. Can I buy him?" I asked immediately. I've waited enough. The day has been long and the pet was a perfect match.
After buying the cat Hobi and I went home. I invited him in and now we are sitting on the sofa in the living room. As we were talking about wizards and our day together I became increasingly curious about Hogwarts as a school. "So, Hobi, what is Hogwarts like?" Just a simple question. His eyes lit up like it was the best place on earth and he began explaining. "Hogwarts is as you know by now a school for witches and wizards. There are four houses where you can be classified. You will live with your house and work together against the other houses. Don't worry, in general all houses can get along well, but there is a competition for House Cup at the end of the year. And let's not forget the matches of Quidditch. they are also very competitive." After talking to him for a few more hours more I came to know a lot about living and studying at Hogwarts. I also learned that Hobi was a Hufflepuff and the boy Namjoon, who we met at Ollivanders was a 3rd year Ravenclaw. I wonder in which house I will be sorted. "Have you thought about the name of you cat?" Hobi asked suddenly. "Cyper" I said with confidence. It worked. The name was manly and cute. It also was a different name for tabby, which the cat was. I loved it. "Great name, Kooks!" Hobi expressed. We talked some more and when it was dinnertime Hoseok went home. At dinner I told my parents all about my day with Hobi and they couldn't have been happier for me. In a few days I'm meeting Hobi again, but this time it will not be because of shopping, it will be because we must board the train which will take us to Hogwarts. I was excited to go. The last two days made me happier than I have been in the last year. It made me forget all about my worries for a little. I couldn't be anticipating anything more than to go to Hogwarts.
