Vampire Academy: It's Never Over

Change of plans?

The morning sun peeked through the curtains causing me to wake up. Annoying sun. When I opened my eyes I saw Dimitri laying peacefully asleep. A small smile creeped on my lips. This man was beautiful even when he slept.

I had the urge to move a stray hair out of his face but fought against it, instead I turned over to see what time it was... 7:00a.m. I should get up but I can't. Every time I try to move I give up. Plus I didn't want to wake Dimitri up so instead I just lay there.

It felt different to actually get to wake up next to Dimitri with no thoughts of having to run or fight Someone but instead just getting to relax. It was nice, yes this I could get use to.

Dimitri began to shift his position and my body instantly froze. I heard him let out a deep breath and I looked over to see if he was awake. Nope my Russian God was still asleep.

I finally turned my body to move to cuddle closer to him. Crap! Bad idea because I guess the movement caused him to wake up. He open his eyes and looked at me. I gave him a small smile.

"Hello my Roza." He smiled. His words caused my heart to flutter. He looked over me to the clock then sighed and looked back at me. "We should get up." I frowned at his words. I know he was right but I couldn't help but want to just stay in this moment.

"You're right." I finally said. I finally bring myself to sit up. Just before my foot touches the floor Dimitri grabs my waist and pulls me down so he is leaning over. "What are you doing." I laugh. "I forgot something." He smiles. "Oh and what's that?" I joke. He smiles his beautiful smile then leans down and kisses me. "There." He says as he releases me.

"That's it?" I wine. "You are a very demanding woman. Come on we have to get ready." He gets up from the bed. I couldn't help but want to mess with him so I fold my arms and shake my head. He arches an eyebrow. "Are you challenging me Rose?" I give him a wicked smile then shrug.

"Rose get out of the bed or I will get you out of the bed." He says giving a wicked smile back. Oh it on. I look up at the ceiling and ignore him. He sighs and begins to walk to my side of the bed. "Rose, Rose, Rose still thinking you can beat me in a fight." He shakes his head.

"Think?! Please I have." I let out a Victories laugh. He comes to my edge of the bed standing over me now. "Last chance Rose." He says with a smile. "Last chance yoursel-" before I can finish I'm cut off by him grabbing me and throwing me over his shoulder cause me to scream.

"Put me down!" I demand. "Rose I warned you." I can hear the smile in his voice. "I swear if you don't put me down I am going to take you down." He doesn't answer but instead laughs. Finally I get so annoyed that I do a move that causes us both to go down.

I pin him to the grown. "I warned you." I smile. "There's one rule you must always remember in combat." He says. "Oh and what's that Obi-Wan?" I joke. Suddenly he does a quick move that causes me to be pined under him. "Don't get cocky." He smiles.

Finally we give up are game and I go and take a shower. Dimitri has guard duty at 9:00am so he leaves before me. When I'm finally done getting ready I get my shoes on and make my way to find Lissa.

I finally find her in an office doing paper work. She gives me a big smile as I enter the room. "Hey!" She gestures to the chair in front of me. "What you up to?" I say as I sit down. "Just boring queen stuff." She jokes.

My stomach growls causing Lissa to laugh. "Good to know your apatite hasn't changed." She jokes. Nope something tells me that will never change. "Wanna go grab a bite?" She ask. "Yes!" I say in excitement which causes her to laugh again. What I'm hungry..

We went out to eat and I order almost everything I could from the menu. What? I haven't had normal food for pretty much six months! Lissa just stared at me as I scarfed down my second burger.

"You should really be carful you might eat one of your fingers if you don't slow down." She jokes. I rolled my eyes at her and continue to eat.

"So when am I starting my guardian duty?" I ask her. "Three days. We're shifting the other guardians right now so we can fit you in." She said gesturing to the guardians around us. I nod.

"So how many guardians will you have when we go to college?" I ask. She looks down which confuses me. Damn it I really wish we still had the bond. This is guessing game is a pain In the but!

"What?" I ask confused. She looks up at me. "I'm just not sure college is a good idea right now." Her answer causes me to choke on my soda. "What?! You've been wanting to go to college for so long and now you've changed your mind!?" I say frustrated.

She looks back down at the table. "It's just with all these queen duties it's been really hard. At first I thought I do it for sure and I still do its just I have almost no time." And she does look exhausted but this was one of Lissa's dreams I just couldn't rap my mind around why she was so quick to give up.

"So that's it? Your just not going?" My frustration begins to increase. She sighs. "There's just been a lot happening since you've been gone." She says. "Yeah I can see that." I see agitated which causes Lissa to frown.

The look on her face makes me feel bad. "Look I'm sorry. It's just I don't get why your just giving up on something you wanted to do so bad." I say trying to understand. "I know but can we talk more about it later. You just got back can't we just talk about something happy for now." She ask.

She gives me a pleading smile and I give in. "Fine but just for now. We're still not done with this conversation." She lets out a sigh to that. "Fine." She says in exhausted.

I just don't get it. Lissa would never just give up on college. Not even because of being queen. She was so determined to go and now she's not even going to try and go!? We may not have the bond anymore but I am going to figure out what's going on one way or another.
