"Come on Connor," North states pulling on my arm. Her and Markus are treating Josh, Simon, and myself to the movies. They said something about it being about superheroes—something that I had to do a little research for to understand what would be happening.
"This is so exciting!" Josh says.
"I heard that they have an android in the movie," Simon chimes in.
"The Vision, correct?" I ask, "I heard that two of the characters made him. Though I feel like we should have seen the other movies first."
"It'll be fine," Markus says glancing back to us, "You do remember what we said before hand, right?"
"Of course."
"Then just prepare yourselves for something intense."
"Intense?" Simon laughs a little, "Nothing can be more intense than what we've been through."
Markus was right. The movie was really intense, well to a degree. It was a rerun, may be pushed through because some people were demanding it to be shown again. But this is different. Maybe they showed Infinity War again because of what the Vision could mean for everyone. He is an android that a lot of people care about and see as a peer. After everything that's happened, I'm sure that there has to be some serious symbolism for them showing this again.
"So," Markus starts, "What does everyone think of it?"
"Wh-Why did they have to die?" Simon asks. You can tell that he's fighting back tears.
"Not everyone died, Simon," North states, "But it wasn't cool of them killing off Vision like that."
"I agree," Josh adds, "They should have started to take the infinity stone out as soon as they realized Thanos was coming."
North and Josh start to go back and forth on what should have happened. Simon is holding himself together, he mentioned somethings about characters dying and how they died.
Markus nudges me, "What do you think Connor?"
"Me? Well..." my voice trails off. I really have to think about it. It's not like I've seen a ton of movies before, this being the first one that I've gotten to see first hand. While I have some general knowledge of other movies, this one is the one that I really know. It's something that I can connect to others with.
"I'm assuming you liked it?"
"Of course," I smile slightly, though it fades. I do have to agree with Josh about finding another way for Vision to still be alive. Though the general economics that Thanos proposed by killing half the population of everyone is insane. He doesn't take into account carrying capacity or anything that can boost the production of food. He only sees that there's too many people, and that there will be just as many people to come.
"But? What didn't you like?" Markus asks.
"Thanos... He could have gone about things differently."
"How so?"
"He could have taken simple economics into effect. Or have brought his own people back into existence with all that power. Maybe that would have brought some sense back into him. I mean, even then he could still go through with the culling without affecting the rest of the universe."
Markus smiles, following it up with a light chuckle. "Maybe he didn't think of any of that."
"Clearly."
Markus puts an arm around me and quickly grabs the others attention. "It is just a movie and I've heard that they'll be rerunning part two in a few weeks."
"They do come back!" Simon cries, "Thank rA9."
"You don't know that for sure," North states.
"They better come back," Josh crosses his arms, "I mean, not like they have much of a choice."
"We'll just have to wait till the second part starts showing again," Markus says, "And don't cheat yourself by looking up what happened. I want everyone to go in blind."
"Everyone except you," I say, nudging Markus lightly.
We all laugh a little. Markus is the reason that these older movies are making a resurgence. He told the people that we might as well have something showing. Especially since the humans have pulled many of the newer movies out of theaters. The little revolution here has really gotten everything turned around. Between CyberLife changing a lot about the newer androids and Hollywood actually taking a break, it's been pretty crazy. Kamski has even returned to CyberLife, though it has been under different terms. He's made sure that the media doesn't catch wind of him going back, yet he told the Lieutenant and me that he was heading back. Saying something about my other model persuading him that he should be overseeing the production a little more closely.
RK900 hasn't been much of an issue but it has been strange to have him around the department. Captain Fowler wanted to keep the Lieutenant and I together, as partners, while RK900—the other Connor as most of the department has been saying—is staying due to the needs of more staff. I think it's because Detective Reed has grown to like him, and in turn me, but I could be completely wrong. Though something gives me the feeling that I'm not. I eventually say my goodbyes to Markus and the others. While I am technically a part of Jericho, I do have a duty to the police department. Hank's been expecting me after the movie and I don't want to keep him waiting.
