a marine love

26 13 20

and so were you the rock bottom
to my crests and troughs
the silent atlas bearing the burden
of the daily swings of my moods
the crude solidarity of yours
forming a mess of coral rocks
trapping a little part of me
in your prison of anemones and Nemos
but it was a home you called
where we lived in a reef lagoon
hidden from the hungry world
and clothed in the shadows
the prying eyes of light never spoke here
only the glow of the coat of sea weeds
to do the candlelight ambience

you and me , salty tears a sea
you and your secrets a trench
deeper than mountains tall
such weight of watery pillars
bearing notes of the silent waves
as I rocked the ships back home
on the farewell waves of siren songs

fissures and cracks on your soul
I sealed them with my blanket
of watery gush of emotions
a silent outburst of the fevers
deep within the plates of your heart
shook the lands of our children
and you pushed me up like
a Tower of Babel that crashed
upon the world , you wanted me
to reclaim all that had been ours
but I always recede from such
temptations that birth within me

worn out like the tears of the daily
clothes that you wear day in day out
your slimy back eroded out into
ridge of separation , so did you begin
to move away from me , forming your island amidst my watery tresses -
our seeds you have sown
so have they seen light , forgotten
except for the occasional visit by
waves , our dreams have risen
up from the shores of sand
a different name for you and me hence
you have saved them a space
from all congestions while
I silently carried away
the waste they have become
